This could be a great place with a lot of potential; only if you are not looking to better yourself. There isn't any room for advancement. You have a lot of people getting promoted with no experience or education. It's a "who you know" type of place. There isn't any management interactions.
Pros
medical insurance
Cons
management, no advancement, no bonus

Work/life balance was OK. Good benefits, compensation could have been better. Terrible job security, always had job cuts that made you wonder if you and when you were next.

Good Benefits - Terrible Company Culture
Department Manager - Prototype & Service (Current Employee) –  Grand Rapids, MIApril 4, 2016
The company has some good people. It's too bad the company culture is like a virus. Finger pointing and blame on failure is spread rampant. Instead of coming together as a team to find a solution, people are thrown to the wolves. I learned quite a bit, but only on my own. The company does not invest much into it's people.

Take all the struggles above, then combine that with under-staffing your team and giving them sub-par programs work with (ala IBM Notes) and the inability to access most sites online - even if it helps you do your job. It makes the most simple of tasks excruciatingly difficult.

Such a disappointment. So much potential lost.

Welder/Fabricator (Former Employee) –  Goshen, INNovember 28, 2016
I loved working for them. It was a great experience. I learned a lot of things about operating the welding machine and how to fix the problems with the machine. It was easy. I catch on the new things quick. And I was able to work at multiple locations within the facility.
Pros
Lunches were on clock

Poor Management is ruining the company
Various positions (Current Employee) –  Goshen, INJune 13, 2013
Total lack of job stability. Arbitrary decisions are made without process knowledge. Unreasonable goals are set or goals are changed without notice. Management frequently fails to pay people for hours worked. Leadership fails to provide proper training and fails to communicate vital information on a regular basis. There is even an above average of people having nervous breakdowns. It is a high stress environment due to the instability and frequent changes.
This was once a great place to work and I enjoyed going in everyday. Now it is simply a nightmare. The volatility has created a culture of self preservation.
I cannot wait to find a new job. Avoid this place.
Pros
Pay (when you are paid correctly) and benefits.
Cons
Poor leadership, No appreciation for going above and beyond, No guidance or training which often sets one up for failure.

A good place for a Single person to work
Senior Weld Technician/ operator (Former Employee) –  Goshen, INJuly 29, 2015
This company requires you to work 7 day weeks. You can be forced to shift change without your approval. Very hot environment. Misinformed upper management. They have a high rate of Temp employees who have to work for a long time to get hired. Virtually no training.Sometimes required to work long hours.
No communication skills throughout the company. There are several employees that can not make the rates required for the job do to lack of caring about the companies productivity. Rates are definitely do-able. Some employees are required to run several operations while other people get sent home. A lot of paperwork required for each job. Majority of the time you are cleaning through the week because of inventory issues and forced to work the weekends because you now have inventory, every week.
New temps are training newer temps and don't know their own jobs yet. Overall, a very intense environment to work in!!!

Excellent Place to work
Current Employee (Current Employee) –  Duncan, SCFebruary 25, 2014
The Associates and Management have created a very good place to work. The work is hard and very fast paced. Someone that does not want to work will not fit in well with the Teams. Company has only been in the area since 2006 and has built a good reputation in area. They offer good pay and benefits with steady work.

It is also nice to work for a company where the engineers, maintenance and management work together to improve the production lines/process through suggestions and ideas from the associates. Though there are tough days, these departments and the associates seem to find ways to make each day a success. With Associates and Mangement like this it makes it an excellent place to work
Pros
Very clean facility with excellent workers

Productive but not a very enjoyable place
Machine Operator/Assembler (Former Employee) –  Goshen, INOctober 30, 2014
a typical day consisted of clocking in at 530 am and working nonstop until 130 when you clock out. I learned how to work hard for long periods of time. management was not very knowledgeable of issues going on. co- workers would agree on that, and were good to work with. hardest part of job was keeping up with the ridiculous demands of the company. most enjoyable was the competition between the shifts to see who got more parts done in a shift.

Team Member (Former Employee) –  Goshen, INFebruary 25, 2015
Great employer, great team, awesome management. Unfortunately plagued by chronic machine downtime. Hard work is rewarded and advancement from within is possible. If you enjoy overtime, this is the place for you.

Great place to work except for very poor management
Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Galesburg, MIMay 31, 2015
I had a great time here, great co-workers, i enjoyed the work and learned a lot about welding and routine maintenance.
The bosses however are incredibly childish, incompetent, vindictive, spiteful, lazy and definitely established an unspoken "buddy system" with only certain floor workers.

HR here is a big joke, don't expect them to take your problems seriously as they cannot take their own jobs seriously.
Pros
Easy work, Great co-workers
Cons
Horrible bosses, even worse office management.

productive and fast pace place to work at.
Machine Operator (Current Employee) –  Grand Rapids, MISeptember 4, 2014
It was usually a very fast pace and stressful day working there at times. I learn what gas manifolds were and what they were used for and where they are placed in a car. The management at benteler was actually really nice and made sure we knew what we were doing. My co-workers were easy to get along with also. I enjoyed them a lot. The hardest part of my job was working while it was 90 degrees inside of the place because it's a factory. It made it a lot more stressful to get through the day. The most enjoyable part of the job was when all the machines were working properly because when the happens that makes the day a lot more smooth.
Pros
Paid lunch breaks
Cons
short breaks, couldn't live from off the premises to go eat
