This is to announce that we have a position available for Manager of Engineering Services in ENGINEERING reporting to the Director of Engineering.
General Purpose of Job: This position directs the operations of the system planning, land acquisition distribution and transmission line design functions of the Cooperative ensures all distribution facilities are designed and constructed in accordance with standards and specifications ensures compliance with rate schedules and line extension policies oversees the execution of legal documents pertaining to real property, appraisals for disposal or land acquisition, easements, surveys, etc.
Supervisory: This position has responsibility for the direction, coordination and evaluation of employees in the engineering design and system planning unit.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida is required within one year of employment. Ten years strong experience in electric utility planning and operations with emphasis on transmission and distribution design, fiber optic communications system design, system planning and land acquisition. Minimum of six years in a management position supervising multiple individuals and functions. Prefer experience with a distribution electric utility system. Basic financial planning, forecasting, and analysis skills. Prefer experience implementing standardized work processes and the ability to interpret and compose work flow process charts coordinating emergency response activities. English is the primary business language. Second language in Spanish is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of electricity and solid understanding of transmission and distribution line design design of fiber optic communication systems utility and NESC specifications mechanical line design calculations design guides and costs. Thorough understanding of contract development and administration for overhead and underground construction system inspections and engineering services. Strong knowledge of MS Office products GIS systems and distribution/transmission design software ability to acquire skills in the use of applicable corporate database programs and customer information systems. Prefer GE Design Manager or similar computer aided design program experience.
Effective leadership skills and ability to make and implement sound decisions demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills and time management detail oriented strong analytical and process management skills demonstrated change management aptitude and ability. Effective communications skills including written, verbal, and listening including the ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, procedures and training manuals prepare and conduct presentations to employees, management, vendors, subcontractors, government agencies. Excellent conflict management skills initiative to seek a variety of tasks/accountabilities beyond the normal job responsibilities and work to exceed expectations ability to maintain confidential information.
