Since 1946, the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company has provided the residents of Bethlehem Township with the finest emergency services, including fire protection, rescue services, and emergency medical services.
Incorporated in 1946, we have come a long way from an organization primarily concerned with civil defense issues. We were the first in Northampton County, and the second in the Lehigh Valley to offer State certified Paramedic Service. Our vehicle rescue personnel were recently judged to be one of the finest in their classification in the State of Pennsylvania. Our firefighters and EMS personnel spend countless hours training with state-of-the-art equipment, such as the "Jaws of Life" and "Automatic External Defibrillators".
For almost 50 years, the Fire Company was housed in a small, one-story building. A fleet of vehicles larger in both size and number required the removal of the social hall in 1975, and another building renovation in 1982. In 1998, it was decided that in order to serve the residents of Bethlehem Township more efficiently, the current station at 1919 8th street had to be replaced. After two years of meetings and deliberations, patience and hard work, our dreams have become realities.
We are always in need of volunteers. If you would like to become involved with our organization, please feel free to contact us. You can also download and print our application form.
