Betts Patterson & Mines, P.S. (BPM) is seeking a professional Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal with 3-5 years of experience. This position requires comprehensive experience in U.S. and foreign patent and trademark matters. A 4-year college degree or paralegal certificate is required. Experience with MS Office 2010, Prolaw and CPI docketing system preferred.

Responsibilities include:

*Electronic filing of patent and trademark documents with USPTO and WIPO
*Preparing statements of use, affidavits of use, renewal applications, assignment documents, and *pleadings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
*Performing preliminary trademark clearance searches
*Maintaining docket system of due dates for actions including responses, renewals, oppositions, *Section 8 and 15 affidavits, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) requirements and payment of patent annuities in foreign countries
*Managing international patent and trademark filings with foreign associates
*Preparing and file IDS
*Preparing status reports
*Preparing cost estimates to enter the national phase in various countries
*Providing secretarial support to attorneys in completing work in a timely and efficient manner
*Assisting with opening/closing of client matters and prepare engagement letters
*Maintaining paper and electronic files
*Making travel arrangements and preparing expense reports
*Other administrative tasks as needed
