The fellow employees were great to work with. The compensation was just lacking for the amount of work that we all put in on the work at hand.

The typical day is very stressful and exhausting. It depend on how the day goes. I learn not to lat people talk about you or call you names and down grade you. The management there was not good. They didn't know how to manage anything. The co-workers there are good. There was a lot of co-workers that would do anything for me. A lot would help me out – more... on anything i needed. The hardest part of my job was when you was trying to do your job and get pulled off to do everyone else job. It was hard to do your job and everyone else and it wouldn't be a good day if your job wasn't done. – less

A good place to work if you are a really strong sales person.
Sales/customer service (Current Employee), Mesa, ArizonaNovember 3, 2013
Pros: discounted tires and auto repairs.
Cons: 12 hour days, and weekends.
On a typical day at Big O Tires, I welcome customers into the store and do my best to take care of their mechanical and maintenance needs of their vehicle. We sell tires and mechanical service. The hardest part of my job is understanding what management wants me to do. The most enjoyable part of my job is working with customers and making sure they – more... leave my store satisfied. – less

Tire Technician (Former Employee), Nephi, UTOctober 17, 2013
Pros: flexible schedual
Cons: 100 mile daily drive
A normal day of work was servicing tires of all sizes and wheels of all styles i didn't learn anything new as i have been in the auto business for years, the management was mediocre, and the crew and the customers was the best part of the job. the hardest part of the job was the 50 mile drive to work and the 50 mile drive from work

productive, hard working team that works well together
Salesman (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NVOctober 11, 2013
Pros: good team, organized
Cons: n/a
Every day Big O Tires as a team worked together to help customers find not only their needs but wants. I would learn about people every day. Management was good for the most part, the only down fall is that the company changed management a lot. The co-workers were amazing to work with, not only were they fun to be around but we all worked together very – more... well. The hardest part of the day to me is difficult to explain only because there was no hardest part, it all was hard but it was all possible. To me if it is easy your not doing something right. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting the customers and making them happy. – less

Cons: short breaks and no lunch time off the clock.
making sure the customers were in a good tire for their money and not to over charge them. mgmt. was ok to work for, co-workers were ok to work with, the hardest part of the job was not to over charge the customer for their tires and the most enjoyable part of the job was when I could get the customer into an affordable safe tire and know they would – more... be safe on the road with their family. – less

Good First Real Job
Tech Assistant (Former Employee), Pasadena, CAJuly 27, 2013
Pros: enjoyale co workers, always busy, learned new skills
Cons: no advancment opportunites, non flexible hours (only morning shifts)
Starting Big O I came in knowing nothing and left knowing how to do oil changes, tire installment, alignments, general stocking, and how to communicate with costumers. A typical day of work starts with rush hour busy work till the late after noon with my coworkers who are down to earth people who taught me everything I learned so in a way they are my – more... mentors and become close friends. Hardest part of the job would be working overtime 10 hour shifts no lunch brake due to the shop being to busy but the most enjoyable part is ending that same day knowing I accomplished my duties that day, – less

The crew I work with is great, management and owner not so much...
General Service Technician (Current Employee), Mesa, AZJuly 22, 2013
Pros: the crew i worked with and free lunch on saturday.
Cons: management and ownership!!!
Working for Big O Tires is not the greatest experience I have had with a company. Some are privately owned, like the one I work for currently. A typical day at work is fun because of the guys in the shop, but the management is not so great...! The shop manager is only there for a pay check and could care less. The store manger is a jerk for a lack of – more... a better term. He will talk down to the people working for him and use valuer language if front of customers. This was the hardest part of the job. Dealing with management that could care less about taking care of the team that make a good company.
I have learned a lot about the auto world working here, because of the guys I work with not for. They are always willing to teach and help out where ever it is needed. In turn They also enjoyed me, because they only had to show or teach me once, and they didn't have to worry about me screwing it couple if I had to do it again. – less
