Our purchasing assistant help develop business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximize the development of the brand, sales and profits for the department or assigned area. You will learn to identify opportunities and recommend new product or concepts. Coordinates information across functions including inventory and data management, making sure timelines are met.
Correspond with functional areas; resolves, handles, or escalates difficult issues
Summarize and communicate merchandising information to managers in weekly meetings
Provide Merchandise Manager with product information and system uploads necessary to create Product Information description for the website(s)
Assist with developing the seasonal assortment plans
Investigate and respond to field issues, whether internal or external, via email.
Analyze market and provide observations to manager for new product and updating existing product.
Identify and recommend new products or business opportunities.
Provide SKU information to Merchandising Operations for input.
Provide SKU information to Warehouse.
Update internal systems with new or existing product information.
Represents Buyer during "turn in" meetings and conducts necessary follow up with teams.
Builds professional relationships with vendors and responds to vendor requests for information.
May be responsible for occasional basic office duties (e.g., filing, printing, shredding).
Basic Computer and Online Research Capabilities
Basic Familiarity with Microsoft Office (OpenOffice), Google Docs, and Excel
Strong Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
Basic Math Competency
Demonstrated Excel skill (e.g., higher-level formula knowledge and ability)
Demonstrated ability to deal with stress and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to Prioritize accurately
