Assuming the question posed was serious, it deserves a serious and accurate answer: Bio-Rad has a formalized performance evaluation process that it goes through on a yearly basis. Merit and/or promotional increases are assessed and awarded as part of this process. It should be mentioned, too, that promotions and related compensation changes may occur throughout the year based on business need and individual circumstances. Hope that helps!

Here are some tips from our recruiting team. They've seen or been part of a LOT of interviews at Bio-Rad and truly want to make sure you interview at your best!

1.Give yourself plenty of time.
We have a lot of buildings and you want to make sure you are in the right location.

2. Research Bio-Rad and who we are.
We have a lot of “Long-Timers” that work at Bio-Rad. It's not unlikely that you will be interviewed by someone who has worked here 10, 15, even 20+ years. They would be pleased that you’ve researched the company and are interested in what we do.

3. Be patient and flexible.
We have a lot of managers who travel, so sometimes it’s difficult to schedule interviews right away.

4. Have an open mind.
If you weren’t selected for a position, it’s not because of you, but because there was someone else who was a better “match.”

5. Don’t be nervous.
Be yourself. Our managers have invited you onsite because they are interested in what you can do.

6. Be ready to meet some awesome people.
We believe we’re helping to make this world a better place, doing amazing things, and are having fun in the process.

Don't plan to be here that long

Of course we come to this question with a bit of bias (who doesn't?), but if you watch our "What Matters Most" video, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WstbtgF7_Pk , we believe you'll get a sense of how many of us feel about working here. Everyone on the production was a volunteer and happy to join in (most were a bit shy at first, too). The excited individuals and teams at the video's end were really THAT happy to join in! We don't often get a venue to tell our story, so you can't blame us too much for getting a little excited when we do, right?

I was very lucky. I went to several interviews before I was hired. I would say just be persistent to let them know how much you really want to work there. It is a great company to work for.
