The Finance System Administrator provides technical support and leadership for the Finance-related modules of the College’s ERP system; provides staff training, coordinates programming needs to ITS, accepts responsibilities as a member of the Finance team; serves in an advisory / leadership role for all initiatives pertaining to Finance-related modules.
Examples of Job Duties
a. Responsible for knowledge, understanding, and development of the Finance system.
b. Performs periodic Finance module updates, system maintenance, and recurring processes.
c. Analyzes and develops processes and reports to support the needs of the department.
d. Thoroughly documents systems; develops and implements new functionality / systems, and trains Finance and Accounts Receivable users.
e. Coordinates programming requests with ITS.
f. Acts as a liaison with ITS, vendors, and other College departments / committees.
g. Writes SQL and other programs as needed or directed. Certified training will be provided. Training must be successfully completed within the first six months of employment.
h. Researches and analyzes all changes to the Finance modules and related sub-modules; makes recommendations; implements procedural changes to leverage existing functionality while minimizing software customizations.
i. Documents, implements, and maintains Finance division related system processes and procedures.
j. Develops interfaces for applications that support the Finance division.
k. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.
l. Researches, analyzes, and recommends new technology to improve Finance processes.
m. Responsible for Unit Cost and UFRS reporting; generates reports for local, state, and federal agencies as needed.
n. Provides support and participates in the annual audit and budget processes.
o. Provides guidance to the Finance System Coordinator.
p. Assists staff in the administration of all state, federal, and College programs.
q. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Accounting, Computer Science or related field required.
b. Minimum of one year of information systems analysis experience in a Finance role preferred.
c. Knowledge of finance information systems and relational databases required.
d. Demonstrated evidence of technical problem-solving and analytical abilities required.
e. Demonstrated experience and evidence of successful project management preferred.
f. Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically including Word, Excel, and Access.
g. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
h. Commitment to and thorough understanding of continuous quality improvement preferred.
i. Proficiency in at least one programming language preferred; SQL preferred.
