Blood Systems Research Institute (BSRI) (www.bsrisf.org), a University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) affiliate, is seeking a motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow with research experience in the areas of cellular and molecular virology to participate in research projects on viral entry and antibody responses to infection. Projects include cloning of human monoclonal antibodies and dissection of the mechanisms of their neutralization, as well as characterization of antibody responses following acute viral infection. Candidates should have a PhD in virology, immunology or other related fields and show evidence of relevant research experience.
Candidates must also be familiar with cell culture, viral propagation and plaque assays, as well as molecular techniques such as cloning, PCR and real-time PCR and general techniques such as FACS and ELISAs. Candidates with previous experience of monoclonal antibody production or protein chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.
