When i worked at Bloomingdales my day would start out with organizing the floor and put away new product that we would receive that day. From 2009 until 2011 I was employed by Bloomingdale's at the King of Prussia Mall as a part-time visual merchandiser. I worked hard and for almost a year I was given full time hours due to the high volume of work we had. I received very high performance ratings and took on supervisory reponsibilties. I was very discouraged by the mistreatment. I told my supervisor and senior management but was gvien no support. I could not believe the way I was treated after all the hard work and effort I put into my job, I resigned! – less

In my proffesional oppinion, Bloomingdale is NOT a very good job path to pursue. The atmosphere is very sterile and the benefits are almost non-existent. This is a poor job placement for anyone who doesn't have a management position

I enjoyed my time at Bloomingdales, it was a very nice place to work, I learned great customer service and met many different people.

Bloomingdales was a very exciting place to work. I loved my managers and co-workers a lot. Everyone always worked as a team.

Fun at start, but reality sets in. Hard work does not pay off. Jealousy if you sell more, by other associates.

Im just followed the recpices all the dailys. Very busy everydays . I had a lot learn the small kitchens. Too tought kitchens are old machines. But i had a lots do figuerd it out to working make it on time for service.

Bloomingdales was a very organized and well maintained store. The perimeter location had a great clientele. I learned a lot about the functions of a department store.

When I first got hired at Bloomingdales I was very excited. Everyone seemed so nice and they seemed to care about your success within the company. They placed me in the fashion accessories department where I worked with the jewelry and watches. I really enjoyed my first few months there and I grew to love my co-workers. When I graduated college my manager – more...  came to me and asked me if I was interested in the Sales Manager in Training (SMT) position. I was very interested and I applied. I was interviewed twice and I felt very confident about the interviews. Unfortunately I did not receive the position, which was alright but I feel that the management could have handled the situation better. They really made me feel like I got the position when I really didn't. They offered me a position as the Coach Specialist in handbags and I accepted it.
After I applied for the SMT position and was rejected I started to feel very insecure about this job. I knew that I could be fired for anything and I was very cautious about everything I did. They began putting pressure on me to perform high sales numbers for our sales events. I felt that the goals that I was personally given were unattainable because my clients were not clients that purchased handbags, they often purchased jewelry and watches. Of course I did not make my sales goals for the events and I felt like I didn't accomplish anything.
This job is perfect for people who like to be challenged with unattainable sales goals, calling clients for every sale event, very strict rules, and no real employee recognition. – less

The company is excellent, the training is also excellent. The
follow through with management is less than desired.

I liked the girls I worked with in this store. There was a lack of coaching and a runaround of managers who did not even call you by name, and constantly told you what you were doing wrong and nothing to help you.

If you love fashion or want to be around it, go to the nearesr Bloomingdales. The sales are remarkable. The people make you feel like you want to live at the store. The fashion on each floor draws you in, you can taste it. Unique brands, known brands, up-and-coming brands. Wonderful affiates, informative events. The restaurants are worth the try.

The store as a whole is a great environment though it is difficult to transfer into other departments and move up depending on where you are hired

This is a great company to work for as far as family lif and going to school, great work schedule and work ethics. Fun working environment and very diverse.

I think its great things and more experince with the store and alot of changelled. Alot of engery and axious to work in bloomingdales. this is RATE is good and high quifited.
