Our Clients Bring Our Best Customer Service Skills Out Of All Of Us!
Retail Sales Associate (Current Employee), 1 Stanford Shopping Center Palo Alto Ca 94303July 24, 2013
Pros: co-worker and floor managers bring a fun and friendly atmosphere anyone can enjoy
Cons: when it is slow it can be very boring, pass the time by cleaning
Working at bloomingdales is great. My co-workers, managers, and our customer are wonderful. They bring a positive work atmosphere to even the slowest non-sale days. A typical day at work consists of greeting every customer that walks in. Answer all phone call and just provide friendly customer service. Some day cleaning, dusting is involved while other – more... is to concentrate on sales and repeat business.

The most enjoyable part of my job are working side with my fellow co-workers in my department or the one next to us. When we get a chance we have a quick chat with always priority on clients when they are there. Our executives expect us to make them a priority and very well agree.

The most difficult time of my job is when inventory come along once a year and we have to prep for it for two weeks by making upc tickets, arranging scan sheets and merchandise. inventory is three days of continuous work but there's a relief of afterwards. It feels good I really don't know why! I guess it's the hard work and accomplishment of task that makes it worth while. – less

Great company to work for.
Receiving/Warehouse Manager (Current Employee), MAJuly 9, 2013
Being the warehouse manager, I have a very demanding job. I have a lot of different jobs I do on a daily basis. I never have a normal day. I have new challenges handed to me with some pressing deadlines. To this day, I have never missed one.

The co workers there, are a second family. We are a small group so you tend to get to know each one and learn – more... of there unique talents that everyone has.

The best part of my job is the challenges I face from day to day. From opening the store up all week long, to running the logistics of the store and making sure merchandise is flowing out to the store to keep it fully stocked. – less

Department Coordinator (Former Employee), New York, NYJune 11, 2013
This is a place where dreams of advancement according to your personal goals go to die. Lines of communication are disconnected and management doesn't care one second over what the bare minimum requires of them. Treat employees as slaves, at best, and human resources not only doesn't protect the employees but takes pleasure in attacking the employees – more... with little to no grounds for doing so. – less

Great Place to start as a luxury retailer
Sales Associate (Current Employee), San Francisco, CAMay 9, 2013
Pros: contest, give a ways
Cons: floor coverage
Typical day at work. Check emails about up coming events, sale, seminars, and product knowledge. After emails you want to check your employee portal to see if you need to touch base with clients on their send charge merchandise or if they had received their new credit card. Walk the floor their always new merchandise being brought in. Check voice mails – more... to see if there any messages from clients looking for a certain item or having some questions. What I learn from this job how to clientele to a large wide range of demographics. You must be able to multitask and deal with all situations. Learning new strategies on how to up sale and how to build a relationship with someone. I'm great at having open conversations with clients and having a relationship with them to have them and myself to feel comfortable. I'm one of the top five people on opening credit card accounts at my store. – less

Professional Sales Representative (Current Employee), Chevy Chase, MDApril 18, 2013
Pros: great employee discount, job security
Cons: company deficit when goal is not met.
My typical day at work would include women shoe sales. Also building my clientale book and building relationships with customers. The hardest part of the job would be that its 100% commission based, so the competition is always there. Its up to you on how you want your paycheck to turn out. Management is sometimes helpful when needed. I do feel that – more... some people on the management team should be more personable to their employees. I enjoy working with my co-workers. There is a variety of personalities and different backgrounds which makes it fun. The most enjoyable part about this job is meeting new people everyday and alot of the exciting activities that the job offers. – less
