Discover the Dinosaurs, one of Blue Star’s successful touring events has an excellent opportunity for a talented, dedicated individual to join our team to oversee and maintain our traveling dinosaur exhibit.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly self-motivated person with the artistic experience and construction trade skills that can repair, build, and maintain our traveling dinosaur exhibit. Requires working with fiberglass, sculpt epoxy, and basic construction materials. Must provide maintenance, repair, and construction of additional elements of the event attractions. Ideal candidate will be a leader with a can do fix anything attitude. Must have strong values and dedicated work ethic. Must be able to manage others and take pride in the exhibit and getting the job done on a weekly basis. Creativity, an eye for set design, and an acute attention to detail is required to thrive in this position.

Position Responsibilities

Repair and maintain collection of dinosaurs in exhibit.
Build, repair, and maintain additional attraction elements in event.
Set up and tear down of exhibit on weekly basis including oversight of dinosaur exhibit scene building, design, and layout.
Load in and load out dinosaur freight on weekly basis.
Work with other team members and management to effectively and efficiently utilize resources to improve the exhibit, the event, and customer experiences.
Position requires weekly travel and extended periods of time on the road without opportunity to return home.
Position can be very physically and mentally demanding at times, and requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Position Requirements

Construction skills and knowledge of construction techniques is a must.
Requires criminal background check with no felony record.
Requires valid driver license and picture ID.
Experience working with basic construction materials, fiberglass, sculpt epoxy, and other artistic materials required.

Experience and ability to arc weld preferred. Auto body skills a plus.
Must be detailed oriented with a creative vision. Must manage time efficiently, have strong people skills, and the ability to direct, lead, teach, and coordinate with others.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
Must have a can do I can fix anything attitude. Must have strong values and work ethic.
