Blueprint Studios is a nationally recognized special event design, fabrication and rentals firm. Recognized for its customer responsiveness and expertise in setting industry design trends Blueprint Studios is focused in delivering products and services to its continuously growing corporate and luxury social customer base. We are seeking a creative and highly detailed Production Manager to oversee our Scenic Design & Fabrication production departments.

The Production Manager, Design & Fabrication is responsible for realizing the designs for the creative team, on time and within budget, and for the management, maintenance and security of production assets. The Production Manager oversees the daily operations and workflow for the fabrication, scenic and soft goods studios.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of all production elements, on time and within budget.
  • Distribute workflow to all related production departments based on critical review of all client work orders.
  • Review labor schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary compliance and time restraints.
  • Attend all design and production meetings.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
  • Work with creative directors and designers in realizing production elements.
  • Manage the construction and maintenance of scenic design elements.
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing to budgets and timescales with creative directors.
  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  • Collect and archive production documentation, including design drawings, instrument lists, etc.
  • Manage purchasing and acquisitions for the production department, delivering proper documentation to the accounting department in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
  • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Negotiate materials prices with suppliers.
  • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
  • Develop the production components of the annual budget with the COO and ownership.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years, full- time experience in production management and/or project management.

College degree preferred.

Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

Proficient in MS OFFICE and able to learn and operate production software.

Candidate must possess excellent communication and follow-through skills.

Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, techniques and production systems is preferred.
