Great company to work for... just like all aerospace companies there's 'up's' and 'down's' in the industry.

My day-to-day job changes on 'need-to-have' basis. Therefore, each day is NEVER the same.

Learjet is enjoyable and professional place of employment. Co-workers and management have always been supportive and friendly. I'm always looking to develop more skills and gain more knowledge of the company. This is a great place to work.

engineer (Former Employee) –  Toronto WillowbrookOctober 23, 2015
Too many relatives and friends in the system, leadership have no vision, moral of the work place is close to ZERO, too many accidents while moving equipment specially in the weekend, due to lack of supervision and upper management support, they are milking the customer GO Transit big time!! location Toronto.

Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 5, 2012
Typical day starts by receiving turnover from previous shift management. Conducting stand up meeting with the oncoming shift and assign priorities and follow up throughout the day. Meeting and de-briefing customers. Attend staff meetings and provide status of projects currently in work . Tie in with afternoon shift and provide workscope and priorities for both oncoming shifts. Evenings and weekends generally consisted of entertaining customers if they were on site.
Pros
job security, benefits, room for advancement
Cons
none really, i expected the long hours and didn't really mind it as my family is still in texas.

PROJECT INTEGRATION TEAM LEAD (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSJanuary 20, 2015
This was my first foray into engineering management which was a good learning experience. Engineering is a tough balance between good enough and not acceptable. A typical day at Learjet means starting your day around 7:30 and leaving around 5:00 with no time for lunch. Just grab it when you have a free 10 minutes. The general base for the company (Manager 1 level and below) know their responsibilities and execute them and a reasonably high level across the board. Senior management is not strong at communicating and executing a vision of success at Learjet based on the failure to execute on the Learjet 85 promises that were declared publicly over the last several years.
Pros
great employees club, good benefits plan
Cons
lack of leadership accountability, lack of employee development

Bombardier Transportation North America was responsible for building mass transit train systems for New York City subway systems and the Long Island Railroad. Primarily involved with the wire analyzer system setups, programming, and product testing. This entailed that I was available for all shifts.
Pros
Good people to work with.

TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLNovember 3, 2015
At Bombardier I was given broad ability to develop electrical device troubleshooting and recognition for accomplishments. Complex circuits involving trade secret technology are routine applications of electronic troubleshooting. Team attitude is essential and helps develop intrapersonal skills and communication. The hardest part of the job was the shift schedule but the best part is the confidence you build in yourself to tackle the job and be the man, not be taken by the man .

Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Tucson, AZJune 30, 2015
A good place to work. On the floor, its a high stress environment but everyone is on the same boat, or airplane. Great place to go direct and make some real money. The night shift on the commercial side is rough on families unless you don't want to be home. Single, hard- working A&P's come on down to T-town. Tucson sucks but airplanes love it. And, a little brown nosing will get you a long way. Best benefits compared to other repair stations/aviation facilities.
Pros
Directs have stable work and great benefits.
Cons
No gen-fam and night shift on the commercial side.
