Management does not have an understanding of what actually occurs onsite on a daily basis. Property management is more than numbers, although the bottom line, as in any business is important. However, in property management, if residents are not happy, then your bottom line, as well as your reputation will suffer in the long run.
Management should spend a day, without leasing, or an assistant manager onsite, especially around the 1st of the month to get a true understanding of what onsite work is really like. Micromanaging is counterproductive. If you trust the people you hire, then you should trust them to do the job. It appears that once hired, no one has confidence in what you can do and insist on micromanagement.
