Title: District Manager
Reports to: National Sales Manager
Job Purpose: The District Manager will be responsible for driving sales and increasing profitability within an assigned District of stores. Build a team of successful Beauty Advisors by recruitment, coaching, training and development. Be a liaison for Boots corporate, 20+ mass retail stores and Beauty Advisors. Ensure corporate policies, procedures and objectives are met within the District. This position may have the support of an Area Coordinator; depending on the size and geographic area of the District.
Job responsibilities:

  • Drive sales, manage cost and maintain employee retention
  • Analyze and forecast District sales
  • Recruit, train, coach and develop District employees to meet sales goals, develop vendor relationships and build brand awareness
  • Develop and manage District employee schedules to maximize the core selling hours of the business
  • Ensures District employees effectively follow company standards, policies, procedures and implements brand awareness
  • Ensure District employees maintain store excellence with operations and offer feedback regarding stock availability
  • Plan and facilitate District training and motivational meetings to ensure sales growth and development of employees
  • Initiate, develop and support store events, sales driving activities and outreach programs to build brand awareness and increase sales
  • Manage personal and District cost and expenses within an assigned budget
  • Develop and maintain professional, productive relationships with Target management teams
  • Influence daily sales performance during weekly store visits

 DM will schedule a minimum of 3 days in the Field each week, 2 of which must be weekend days. (Weekend days consist of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.)
 DM to record weekly visits and make available for National Sales Managers review.

  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor information; communicate any pertinent information to National Sales Manager
  • Prepare and conduct performance appraisals and reviews
  • Solicits guest feedback to understand needs of the guest and the local community

Skills and required experience:

  • 3+ years sales management experience within the beauty industry and multi-unit store management
  • Experience of leading, motivating and managing a minimum of 10 employees
  • Experience with recruiting, hiring, training and employee development
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel (some overnight stays required)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with all levels of management both internal and external
  • Self motivated, great organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Results driven with a sense of urgency and passion for the industry
  • Confident in making critical decisions
