Fast paced and plenty to learn
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) – Hobbs, NM 88240 – February 8, 2016
Working in the warehouse at BSE was always active work, scanning products that were received in and accounting that what was purchased was received and writing up any discrepancies and mailing them to the corporate office. Putting the new items away on the shelves provided another set of eyes to verify the correct product and correct amount were received. When work tickets would be printed the necessary items would get picked, then another co-worker would need to verify the ticket to ensure the correct item and quantity were picked for shipping or pick-up. The hardest part of the job happened when the counter sales would call for help, all free associates would go up front to help with customers, pulling the orders was fine but I was still learning how to write up the tickets for processing and accept payment. Most of the co-workers were fun to work with, many of what I learned came from fellow co-workers due to the leads and supervisors being busy. It was also one of the things I did not enjoy about this branch, being such a small branch of the company it took a long time for leads and supervisors to teach new workers much, any work reviews were often weeks late if they happened at all. However, it was a fun, fast paced job that, while it left much to be desired, it provided a lot of learning experiences.
