the work is easy, but the hours schedule is ridicules, worked 7,6,5 schedule meaning that you only get three days of a month, Then on short notice was thrown to 12hrs nights.

Tester/Assembler (Current Employee) –  Fountain Inn, SC 29644August 1, 2017
My job is to test all the hydraulic pumps. It is a lot of numbers involved. Safety is at it best at Bosch. Managing is good. Work environment is clean and neat.

Hydraulic Pump Tester (Former Employee) –  Fountain Inn, SCJune 13, 2017
Dealing with high pressure and hydraulic oil. clothes would get oil soaked and thousands of pounds of high pressure oil would blow up on the operator of the machines, if there were bad oil rings

Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) –  Bethlehem, PAMarch 25, 2017
For at least the logistics group, there is so much red tape that it makes it difficult to get straight answers on processes, and forget about streamlining this, never feels like it will happen. And even when you receive an answer, they are merely word of mouth and can change in seemingly a moments notice. Archaic methods for picking and packing of parts (at the time at least). Management loves to give a runaround and explains things in a way that makes employees feel like they are being spoken down to. The atmosphere can end and flow like any other large business, but the feeling around the floor for a while now has been that of distrust and general melancholy.
Pros
Holidays off, personal time, medical benefits
Cons
Miles of red tape, micromanagement of associates, roundabout answers from management, starting pay rates

CNC Machinist (Former Employee) –  Bethlehem, PAMarch 20, 2017
Great company that takes very good care of their employees. Management has about as many hiccups as any other large company. However they really have their stuff together.

Electric Vehicle Automotive Internship (Former Employee) –  Rochester Hills, MIMarch 6, 2017
As an intern I was shown a lot of product in a very short amount of time from a very knowledgeable workforce. The people working for Bosch were always more than willing to teach.

Not well staffed or managed
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Bethlehem, PAJanuary 22, 2017
While I was employed the staff was at an all time low. The team leads/ supervisors were constantly changing and they froze the ability to be hired on from a temp because of they changes the company was going through, with other departments shutting down.

Safety Concerns
Material Handler/Logistics (Former Employee) –  Fountain Inn, SCJanuary 19, 2017
Talked a lot about safety,... but it was all talk.

Management allowed things to go on, on the production floor, (ie. pedestrian and office traffic allowed to walk through assembly areas [while using cell phones]) that were dangerous.

Other state-of-the-art plants (like B.M.W.) have their non-manufacturing employees walk on "cat-walks" over top of production areas (away from the dangers).
Pros
Good benefits and okay pay
Cons
Safety issues, logistic issues (moving material from point "A" to point "B."

Not a huge learning curve. An interested individual must be able to adapt and demonstrate the ability to be flexible through learning every workstation.

Friendly working place with friendly and positive atmosphere
Product Department Intern (Former Employee) –  Changzhou, ChinaDecember 30, 2016
All the colleagues there were friendly and helpful. The experienced engineers there would love to help the less experienced ones. The people there were extremely friendly. The managers would keep checking on the team to ensure everything was on track. And they would even bring snacks for everybody.

The hardest task I had there was to multitask for different teams. Since I was assigned as a product manager assistant while working as a manufacturing engineer. Thus sometimes I would have 3 or 4 tasks during a day with 2 or 3 meetings down the line. However, with the help of my department manager and general manager, I had my projects done on time.

The most enjoyable part of the job is taking walks with my co-workers or managers during work as a break. This really helped boost the productivity.
Pros
Free company bus commute, free snacks.
Cons
Short lunch break

Good place to work. overtime is hit or miss but you can normally get it if you want to learn different jobs or volunteer when it becomes available, the more jobs you know the better chance of getting OT. benefits are pretty awesome 401k match program is one of the best i've seen or at least when i worked there 75 percent match up to 9 percent. atmosphere is pretty normal and good group of employees, willing to help you with anything you need.

Production Assembler, Hydraulic (Former Employee) –  Fountain Inn, SCJune 26, 2016
Low hourly rate. Advancement is based on favoritism. Ever changing job description with little to no training. Employees can expect little pay rate increase annually.

Credit Support Analyst (Former Employee) –  Hoffman Estates, ILJune 23, 2016
My typical day at Bosch was productive. I learned a lot by working with my peers. We worked as a team. I cannot recall anything hard to do because everyone was helpful. The most enjoyable part of the job was to attend meetings. Attending meetings was a time were everybody comes to together and share their knowledge of a specific job or something about how the company is growing or being innovative. Also, during the holiday season, we had a Holiday Party in January. It was fun.
