Greta place to work
Senior IT Specialist (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMay 16, 2017
Great place to work. I'm not sure why 150 characters is a requirement and why I'm being forced to write a review but that pretty much sums it up. Benefits are top notch

Great culture and benefits, but slow moving and tough for career advancement
Support function (Current Employee) –  Boston, MAMay 4, 2017
I work in a support function, not as a consultant, so my experience is different. The people are great, the culture is respectful and supportive. The work can be interesting but can be boring, it depends on the project and the stakeholder. Career advancement in support functions is really tough. They tend to hire externally instead of promoting from within. It's very common for people to work at BCG, leave, and come back just to move into a higher role. The work/life balance can be tough at times. The people are for sure the best part of the company. Great culture.
Pros
Amazing benefits, free health care, good parental leave, kind and supportive people
Cons
Lack of career advancement, tough work/life balance

IT Intern (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXApril 19, 2017
I was in IT, and therefore did not have a lot of exposure to the consultants; however, they seemed to be overly impressed with outdated technologies. Similarly, I was not impressed by the IT staff that I worked with.

BCG is a fabukous company with some of the best benefits out there and very smart people. I worked in their corporate office which was not as "good" as the Consultant office and had some office politics but still a good experience.

Great place to learn, experience different industries and types of work. Super smart colleagues. work-life balance non-existent, up-or-out / constant feedback culture can be toxic

Challenging, but rewarding work with great benefits
Consultant (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXApril 6, 2017
Work as a consultant can be demanding and include travel (75% or more), but consultants are rewarded with many benefits included best in class healthcare insurance, training, and a supportive work environment. Other benefits include travel benefits for those who work on the road frequently.

For non-consultant roles (i.e. administrative and support roles), healthcare benefits are the same, but travel is limited (less than 25%).
Pros
Great healthcare, supportive environment
Cons
Depending on role - challenging, but rewarding work

Senior Knowledge Analyst - Roadmapping Software (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMarch 27, 2017
Some of the most intelligent, driven, and kind people in the business. Work is very intense and there is a steep learning curve both related to the work and culture of the firm.

Very few breaks or periods of downtime in the life of a BCGer. Very data-driven and analysis-rich working environment. Very great pay, bonuses, and benefits - but you will work very hard for them.

BCG is a company that any person could fit into. They are a company that truly recognizes each and every employee for their work. This is an outstanding company to work for, with limited availability.

The job description as it was written for my position was too much for one employee could handle. A lot was asked of a single individual with little to no support from management

Learned the core business toolkit and was exposed to a variety of industries and companies. Great people but like all client-facing jobs, lots of variability in lifestyle.

Great benefits and fun company. Staff and management between the offices varies greatly. Not much room for growth as a staff member.

Great benefits and fun company. Staff and management between the offices vary greatly. Not much room for growth as a staff member. BCG will never reward you for being a great employee. Their mentality is you must go above and beyond to achieve growth.

Great Company and People
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (CKA) (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJanuary 18, 2017
I joined the Boston Consulting Group as a contractor (less than a year). Co-workers were a global team from all parts of the world, friendly and very supportive in all aspects of the work.

I have to say that BCG is one of the best consulting firms I've had the privilege of working for. It was a pleasure going to work each day and being part of a beautiful and progressive office, while working with amazing people.

It is one of the few companies that provides some fun perks with collaborative workspaces; encourages a healthy environment with a treadmill, a ping pong table, and free healthy snacks for everyone to enjoy. Everyone in this office space works hard, and has a fun and enjoyable place to work in.
Pros
Great people to work with, work/life balance, collaborative workspaces, and fun events
Cons
Nothing

Great place to learn
IT Consultant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYDecember 1, 2016
BCG provides endless opportunities to get involved in a multitude of different client experiences. The caliber of talent at this firm is second to none making it a great environment to learn and grow. Oftentimes, the client work can be a little tough making work/life balance out of reach sometimes. Overall, salary and benefits at the firm are great other than the vacation policy (15 days for employees that have worked less than 5 years)
Pros
Good exposure to clients. Great benefits!
Cons
Little work/life balance
