A typical day at work included opening the office, handling the flow of office traffic, keeping track of multiple attorneys schedules, copying/scanning and faxing. Making sure conference rooms are clean and presentable. Sorting mail. Checking email throughout the day. Answering phones. Ordering Supplies for office, FedEx, and UPS. Sending/Receiving Packages. Opening new client files. Help to prepare documents and/or Attorneys for court.
I learned so much about a law office and how much time and dedication it takes to win a case. I learned confidentiality between clients and attorneys. I also learned time management and a lot of office politics.
My co-workers were great. Some became life friends.
The hardest part of the job was learning aspects of real estate that I would not have known without this experience. There was also no room for advancement with the company and everyone was always so tense about loosing their jobs. There was also not much of an increase in wages over the 2 1/2 years of my employment with this company.
The most enjoyable part of this job was the Paid Time Off and Vacation Days. They were very generous. Friday were breakfast days and attorneys would bring in donuts and bagels for breakfast.
