My particular position was a high-volume, fast-paced position. I prepared many estate planning documents and probate documents. I had continuous contact with clients via phone and personal interaction. The attorneys that I worked directly under had a high volume of appointments that required a very organized scheduling process. I would at times work under 5 attorneys a day preparing documents, fielding calls, scheduling appointments, monitoring court appointed guardian/conservator cases and reconciling million dollar probate estates.
The hardest part of the job was maintaining a thick skin and calming irate clients. The most enjoyable part of my job was the reward of helping many clients in desperation and loss. Many clients expressed to my employer their fondness of my contact and work ethic with them.
The workplace in general was always a team effort and family oriented.
