HR Manager (Former Employee) –  Fairburn, GADecember 29, 2016
A typical day was always busy - work hours are long, but enjoyable. The hourly employees are a treasure and I will miss them - it was like family. The most enjoyable part of my job was supporting the employees and living by my moto each day "Do under others as you want them to do under you."

worse place in the world to work
PRODUCTION FLOOR (Former Employee) –  FAIRBURN GEORGIAJanuary 6, 2016
this place is not a place to work..favortizm is shown by the management to floor workers..upper management could care less about the employee who actually does the work in the heat and cold and took 3 minutes of 2 breaks away and 3 minutes of the lunch...motto for the product..when in doubt it is good/bad just ship it on out...some stations got heaters while others freeze in the cold...hr dept is a joke that lady is so wishy washy and not professional and does for who she wants to do for...no one is treated with respect on the floor it is only about production rates not the quality of the product..employee turn over is fast and those there are looking for other jobs...if you are in the click you get the raises and do not have to work as hard as others...no training they stick you on the job with another person trying to train you..many are on drugs the whole plant needs to be tested even the HR Dept.. raises are for the favorites and cross training rarely happens unless you brown nose upper management........mcdonalds makes more money than boyd pays..would not recommend this place to anyone unless they want to be in for a hard 8 hours of stress from the leads, upper management and HR.....PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND FULLY INVESTIGATED..........

Material Handler (Current Employee) –  Elkhart, INMarch 14, 2015
The best parts of the job are driving the forklift, and being a part of contributing to the GNP.

The hardest parts of the job are when the teamwork breaks down, and communications don't flow throughout the entire staff.
Pros
Steady Shift Hours, and Freedom to complete my tasks with minimal supervision.
Cons
Poor communication, and Little to no room for advancement.

Shipping Clerk (Current Employee) –  Fairburn, GAFebruary 22, 2015
Boyd is very small but there's so much that goes on at the place. Human resources is one lady, no forklift safety rules are enforced, and there's always an issue.

Overall a Good place too Work
Supervisor/Manager (Current Employee) –  Fairburn, GAJanuary 19, 2015
Typical day would include turning on all the machines in my area to heat up etc, Schedule cells and material handling.

I learned alot about manufacturing and managing people and building teams, and maintaining and exceeding goals.

Management is very hands on, and follow up very well.

Most co- workers did their part in helping the company

Hardest part of my job is fire fighting, handling every issue such as
lack of material to produce job, and mechanical issues.

Most enjoyable part of the job is to help people when needed, such as work and life skills
Pros
meeting new people
Cons
Healthcare, Advancement

Machine Operator/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORMay 28, 2013
Due to some of the resent changes due to being bought by two Investment firms in the last years, it has lost it identity on who and what they are and can become. The only culture that has been installed in its work force is fear and intimidation.
They rely to heavily on the temporary work force, and use them to replace experienced workers.
For most small room for advancement.
Lack of communication between management and production.
Pros
working with good people who are dedicated
Cons
Bad management, no communication, high turn over on temporary work force
