Front Desk/ youth employment (Current Employee), Providence, RIJuly 22, 2014
Pros: meeting new people
Cons: there are some bad apples but where arent there any
a typical day at work is like any other I wake up head to work wait for the parents to drop them off and from there on the kids love giving me hugs and playing games they are always eager to help me do my work

what I learned is that kids are delicate and be emotionally intelligent at all times they are bundles of love and joy but also little stompers

my – more... co-workers are pretty much in the same level of caring and compassion for the job as I am

the hardest part of my job is leaving I love my job and if I dint required sleep I could do it forever

the most enjoyable part id meeting new parents and kids and welcoming them into the club I think it is essential that everyone feels welcome at any place of business – less

escorted different age groups to activities and watched over them. Learned how to be prepared for situations involving kids and had amazing co workers. Hardest part of the job was trying to keep up with the kids but enjoyed every part of it.

Recreational Counselor (Former Employee), Magalia, CAJuly 14, 2014
Pros: i loved all of the kids.
Cons: some of my coworkers were unpleasant to work with.
Boys and girls club was an awesome place to work, I enjoyed almost everything about it, it was almost like it wasn't a job. I really enjoyed my boss and all of the management because I never felt as if I was being talked down to. Although I really don't like the way some of my coworkers treated myself and others I wish she would have been handled in – more... a different matter. – less

Recreation Assistant (Former Employee), Pekin, ILJune 30, 2014
A typical day at work included giving out instructions, watching over the game room and occasional help with the receptionist. I learned how to use a copy machine and some additional organization skills. The most enjoyable part of the day was getting to spend time and play games with all of the kids.

Excellent Program!
Team Leader (Former Employee), Galesburg, ILJune 26, 2014
This is a great program for toddlers through teenagers. I was a team leader there and we did all sorts of fun and educational things with the children. We taught respect and self value. I loved meeting all the new faces and helping them out with anything they needed weather it was just advice or summer homework.

program sta (Former Employee), Morgantown, KYJune 24, 2014
Pros: free lunch, getting to play with the kids everyday
Cons: no healthcare
A typical day would be going in at 6:30, getting breakfast together for the kids and start planning activities for that day. At 7 the kids would start getting there. We would all eat and then spend the day in the gym playing games. I would be going in and out of the gym because I would run the front desk also. My co-workers were amazing I loved them – more... very much. The thing I loved most about that hob was getting to know each and every kid. – less

Front Desk Coordinator (Current Employee), Baraboo, WIJune 23, 2014
The most enjoyable part of this job is the rewarding affect you can have on a child. To see the joy in their face is priceless. I have found that there is a lack of discipline and authority. Most of the kids that act out are due to that fact that they are bored and don't have a real good structure base for them.

Exciting, chaotic, fun
Seasonal Coach (Former Employee), Oxnard, CAJune 21, 2014
Pros: fun, experience, busy
Volunteering for the Boys and Girls Club was quite a fun experience. It gave me experience and it definitely kept me very busy! There would be more chaotic says than others due to having to coach both soccer teams, volleyball teams, but other days it would be calm and collective. My co-workers made it much more easier to manage the chaotic days by helping – more... out. I loved being surrounded by children who were motivated and tried their best to be their very best! It made me happy to see children that want to be very successful. – less

A fun environment to work at.
Membership Coordinator/Front Desk (Former Employee), Oxnard, CAJune 12, 2014
Pros: a very fun environment to work at.
Cons: it was a summer job.
My typical day at work would be answering the phone and making sure kids check in and out of the Boys and Girls Club Center Entering in new memberships in the system as well as file paper work.

I learned how to greet and answer the phone professionally and work with children.

Management was approachable when needed and a great team leader.

Co-workers – more... were very well team players In work place.

There was no hard part about the job I enjoyed being there.

I really loved the dress up theme we would do once a week for the kids. – less

Support Staff (Current Employee), chattanoogaJune 11, 2014
Pros: my co-workers get alone well
Cons: not enough hours
Everyday at work is different and I learned how to make quick ajustment on a day to day situations. I love working with my manager and my co-workers. We work together everyday to get our job done. The hardest part of my job is to keep all the kids involve in a activity for a hour that is only suppose to last for ten or twenty minutes. The most enjoyable – more... part is the kids because you never know what they will do or say to make your day. – less
