Job description:
This position is for an inside sales/customer service representative. This position focuses on maintaining and growing relationships with small to large-market wholesale customers. The sales representative must be knowledgeable in the entire range of products and services our firm provides to customers while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met. The inside sales representative is expected to retain existing business and increase profit margins. The inside sales representative is a key central figure at the branch level, serving as a communication hub for the daily sales activity. This is a fast paced environment that includes handling incoming customer calls, qualifying customer needs, determining inventory availability, entering orders, coordinating inventory delivery, reaching out to our customers over the phone and supporting the outside sales team with their customers. This position is an entry-level and non-management position that requires little to no travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Retains customer volume and sales by assisting customers, investigating and resolving customer problems
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in established accounts
  • Coordinates internal resources to assist with sales effort and to meet customer expectations
  • Create accurate and professional quotations and submittal packages from customer specifications
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders, improve quotation process and measure effectiveness
  • Work closely with the outside and inside sales team to identify and generate leads and opportunities
  • Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers

Requirements – A Must!

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2+ years sales experience – preferably inside sales experience
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Solid experience in the wholesale commercial plumbing industries and knowledge of commercial plumbing product lines
  • Knowledge with various software applications: Microsoft office – Word, Excel, Outlook; QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions a plus
  • Excellent consultative selling phone skills

Physical demands:

  • Sitting in chair at desk for the majority of the day
  • Computer usage for majority of the day
  • Standing/walking to facilitate order processing
  • Lifting occasionally to help customers with order pick up
  • Spend time in warehouse, with no climate control and potentially hazardous equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, and heavy material)

Position type: Full time/Regular Reporting to the inside sales manager
Salary commensurate with experience and benefits available include paid time off, Health insurance, 401k and membership to the Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP)
