Designs and plans transmission line facilities in accordance with applicable
codes and regulations.
Tasks, Duties and Relationships:
Performs detailed engineering studies and reports within degree
discipline. Directs the development of project drawings using both conventional drafting and CADD
techniques. Gathers information as needed to facilitate design projects. Assists in project management by performing detailed engineering and economic studies, reviewing contract specifications and estimating labor, materials, and construction costs of projects. Provides technical support to others within and outside the Engineering Department.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a BS in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering. Experience in transmission/substation design is preferred but not not required. Must be proficient in computer applications and have good oral and written communication skills. Completion of EIT or eligible for professional registration is desirable.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Requires working inside and outside in varying
weather conditions. Requires sitting for extended periods of time. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Requires working overtime and traveling at times with short notice.
