Excellent Company with great benefits
Customer Experience Manager/Tire Specialist (Former Employee), West Palm Beach, FL – December 9, 2012
The secret to getting a job is to be a good customer. Make friends with your local Store Manager when having your vehicle serviced. Ask him to fax your resume and credentials to the ADM.

Strong company to work for. Great employee benefits
General Manager (Current Employee), Asheville, NC – December 4, 2012
Pros: working with the public, problem solving, decision making, customer experiences
Cons: no breaks, on feet all day, extremely long hours, short staffed
I think by far this company has been the best company that I have worked for out of all my previous employers. Great pay. Great benefits. Advancement opportunities. The list goes on and on. The only downfall I see is that the balance of work and life isn't really here. 65-70 hour work weeks are the norm.

Lead Tech (Former Employee), Chamblee, GA – September 30, 2012
Pros: steady work and steady pay
Cons: sundays, expected to teach everyone no help from others
I really enjoyed working for Firestone, however I was presented with what I thought would be a better fit all around, and did not meet my expectations. Looking back, I really enjoyed working there and would go back given the opportunity.

A place you can count on to keep going all day long.
unloading and Loading (Former Employee), Noblesville, IN – June 21, 2012
Pros: my ten year aword
Cons: having to say goodbye to my coworkers.ps the plant shut down.
Firestone was a future that has a high count of leader ship and good people to work for.The warehouse that i work in was very productive and driving a fork truck was a good challenge;I would take loads to the other side of the plant to be put on other trucks. The hardest part of the job was running out LP gas on the top floor of the building. The best – more... part of the job was working with others in a team. – less

A place that will give you a headache
Security Officer (Former Employee), Akron, OH – June 18, 2012
Pros: the pay check
Cons: long hours, they lie, they cheat you on your pay, only get a lunch if you are not busy, too many cons to name
Not a good place to work. In the Security area we were required to work 12 hour shifts and if the next shift called off you were stuck with an 18 hour shift. This happned many times. Then they would come to your door if someone else called off and would be banging on the door at 4 AM. Then the nerve of the company to fire a person while they are off – more... on sick leave and try and appeal the Unemplymnet and said they didn't know why I was not coming to work. They lost of course. The place is a two face place to work they will smile at you and be stabbing you in the back at the same time. The only good thing about the place was the pay checks. – less

Very productive and a easy going pace and positive.
Auto Mechanic (Former Employee), Chicago, IL – June 7, 2012
Pros: we get 4breaks a day including lunch
Cons: the clean-up part after a mess being made.
Motivation is the key to this particular job. Learning comes with this job and always sure some experiences you might be helpful to anotha co-worker. The hardest part is trying to understand of what the customer is complaining of their vehicle/truck problem(s) are. I take pride and joy in my work at all times. Management is great I get alone wit my – more... manager, he is professional and so im I when business involved. – less

It is a poorly managed plant
Financial Analyst and Payroll Supervisor (Former Employee), LaVergne, TN – May 2, 2012
Cons: very bad management
There are many good co-workers, but management is a very old style theory X management style. Management intentionally created conflict instead of working to build teams. It always claimed to be a "team" company, but managers spent more money and energy of making production employees mad then it would have cost to encourage them and improve performance.

Mackoo – March 8, 2013

Worked for the plant for 14 frustrating years where I have seen managemet at its worst. This plant is over 30 years old with the management coming from the GED, dropouts, and high school classes of the 1970's. Open management positions are filled by the friends and families of the established 1970's class of self appointed guru's. Over 90% of the management have no formal education and will defend their posistions by not hiring the most qualified and educated for any open positions. A clean sweep in management is needed especially in HR, and throughout the plant. This could truly be a highly productive and competitive plant. The best prospect for the qualified management can be found on the production floor in this plant. There are many highly educated and former military managers that can take this plant to where it can truly prosper-gender and race not withstanding.

Great learning experience
Maintenance Technician V (Former Employee), Wilson, NC – April 30, 2012
This was my first job industrial job out of high school. I had been doing electrical construction and was given the opportunity to get on with their maintenance department. They have lots of fully automated machines with robots. It is a excellent place to learn a whole lot about PLC's, electrical controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc. I left after 5 – more... years due to the 3 shift rotation. I have been told they do 12 hour shift now so they seems a whole lot better. Overall this is a great place to get a whole lot of experience with automated equipment. – less

good company to work for if positions were permanent
Material Handler (Current Employee), Jacksonville, FL – April 2, 2012
Pros: enjoy pulling parts and co-workers and hours
Cons: mandatory overtime with no notification
Start off day by pulling orders. Have learned how to use a scanning system and drive an electrical pallet jack. I like working with my co-workers. The hardest part of my job is driving a stand-up fork lift, the most enjoyable part of my job is being self sufficient.

Back breaking
Shipping/Receiving (Former Employee), Portland, OR – February 6, 2012
Pros: time flew, and kept me in good shape
Cons: back breaking
This job was very hard. The average American could not perform this job. It was very physical and back breaking. The management wasn't very good.
