Great boss and co-workers
Computer Science Research Assistant (Former Employee), Provo, UT – May 2, 2013
I would work on software that go with Head-Mounted Displays. I learned creating software without any plan is extremely hard to work with. I had to refactor the project to make it easier for adding new functionality. The management was my boss gave me an assignment and I was left to myself to get it done. When I was not sure on what exactly the specs – more... was, I would create up a list and discuss with him. With co-workers, we help each other out. If he got stuck on something, I would help discuss it out solutions. He did the same for me. The hardest part of the job was trying to import library that was not well documented. The most enjoyable part of the job was to see the actual trials using the software I help create. – less

Great environment and I work with autonomy
College Math Instructor (Current Employee), Provo, UT – February 27, 2013
I work as an adjunct math professor and I love the quality of the students who attend BYU. I enjoy working with the students and the autonomy I am afforded to get the job done. However, you don't always feel appreciated as an adjunct faculty member.

BYU is a private, church owned, university that stresses research, teaching, and moral values.
Professor of Mathematics (Former Employee), Provo, Utah – February 25, 2013
Pros: high quality of professors, students, and values.
Brigham Young University was an excellent place to work, with a balanced emhasis on research and teaching. It required strict moral behavior and stressed family values. I taught there for 33 years and then retired, and with our children raised and still in posession of good health, pursued other teqaching experiences at different kinds of educational – more... institutions. – less

Great Education
RESEARCH ASSISTANT (Former Employee), Provo, UT – February 19, 2013
Overall, BYU is a great place to get a Graduate Education/Post-Doc. The chemistry department has great faculty and a wide variety of research opportunities. Compared to other Chemistry Institutions the faculty does not demand tons of hours from their students. Due to the religious nature of the university, many people opt for other universities. The – more... indirect result of this is that there is far more funding and resources per capita (due to religious funding) than would exist at many other places. – less

Most rewarding job working with artwork worth millions
Assistant Manager of Fabrication (Former Employee), Provo, UT – January 7, 2013
Pros: working with all kinds of artwork.
Cons: 3/4 part time.
go around the muesum and change all the burned out lights.check on all the exhibits to see if anything needs to be fixed or adjusted. check on all the students to see how their jobs are coming. proceed with my assignments, Frames, cases, display's.

how to take students not in the field of woodworking and produce a gallery to exhibit artwork.

I have – more... a supervisor who recieves plans from Curator and design team then tells me what needs to be done.

4-5 student employees mostly, but have to deal with design team, registration (art handlers), Curators.

waiting for Curators to give us the plans.

seeing the end result on the exhibits. – less

Camera Operator/Video Editor (Former Employee), Rexburg, ID – June 6, 2012
Pros: work celebrations
Cons: no transportation
A typical day at work, I was in an office with hi-def screens and sound to edit video. Some days were spent filming different things on campus. My co-workers and I all loved working together and everything was fun. The hardest part of the job was sometimes working odd hours for an event, but the best part was doing what I loved.
