Always under staffed
Para Educator/1:1 Aide (Former Employee) –  Apple Valley, CAApril 15, 2017
Staff tries hard but very under appreciated by admin, work conditions can be very challenging, kids fight often, asked to do multiple jobs for same compensation, no room for advancement, very exhausting mentally and physically at times and a lot of shady operation to appear to be in compliance. Should be monitored more by school districts and state. It's more of a daycare than that of a school, I don't believe the students are being prepared nor is it in the best interest (financially) of the school to be RE-entered into public school or success.
Pros
Staff can be friendly but cliquish
Cons
Lack of support and appreciation by management and administration.

Great staff and leadership to help learn and grow
Educator Assistant / Teacher Assistant (Current Employee) –  RiversideMarch 13, 2014
Normal school hours. Professional work from all staffs. Great environment to learn about the different needs of students with autism. Everyday is an opportunity to learn and grow within the scope of behavioral intervention and implementation of behavioral change for students. Great support from staffs and great working environment to be in. Job sometimes can be difficult with student behaviors, but great personalities from co workers can make the task seem less stressful and really fulfilling at the end of the day.
Pros
team work, team communication
Cons
changes in school year calendar and events
