Great and Flexible place to work
CAKE DECORATOR / ASST. MANAGER (Former Employee), San Francisco, CAOctober 29, 2014
Cons: not many opportunities to grow, they only had one location in san francisco area
Learned a great deal about management, had a great manager that really taught me about ordering, shrink, inventory. Was able to really develop as a decorator and was given the freedom to be creative.

High paying Grocery Job..but
Grocery Clerk (Former Employee), San FranciscoSeptember 18, 2014
Pros: paid around 12 dollars an hour, paid every week not biweekly, work in the mall, hour long breaks
Cons: hard work, standing for 8 hours
You receive a lot of hours, but working here is tiresome. I go home exhausted and if you going to school i recommend getting a retail job instead. The management is terrible as all the employees talk smack about how bad it is. There is also unexplained and sudden instances of respected and loyal employees quitting.

It Has Its Ups and Downs
SALES ASSOCIATE/ BAKERY CLERK (Current Employee), Westchester, CASeptember 3, 2014
Pros: sometimes free lunches, nice employees
Cons: short/unsteady hours, does not favor overtime
I've realized over the years BF has really changed. The more it expands the more it changes and not for the best as far as employees. Before it began to extend its chain more and more they took care of their employees making sure that their employees came first n order to ensure morale. The more it expands the less incentives they offer to employees. – more... They are also very strict on overtime. They overload employees with work and under hire but expect all work to be done with no overtime. With stresses like those it can make working for the job undesirable.
However, they do ensure hiring kind heart people and people with great personalities. Working in stores with a good team and good personalities makes work a little less stressful. Most of the employees do believe in teamwork and working for the betterment of the company. I have also noticed that Bristol favors people who want to make the grocery business rather than a pass through job. If you choose to make it a career then they will set you up with nice intuitiveness to work and represent their company. – less

Fun workplace, great management, excellent support
Manager (Current Employee), West Hollywood,CAMay 30, 2014
Pros: benefits
Cons: schedule was variable
A typical day at work consists of being a team player and extreme patience. I learned how to manage my time and prioritize what was urgent and what wasn't. I was trained to respect my superiors and my subordinates, because we are all a team, positive energy is key! My management skills were most used for customer support, when issues would arise, my – more... job was to diffuse the situation and have positive customer feedback. The hardest part of the job is making sure all tasks are completed, all deadlines are met and all customers are happy. The most enjoyable part of my job is building my teams spirits and motivating them to work hard, as well as knowing I support families in an event that truly makes a difference in their home life. – less

Nice organic and natural market to work as a cashier and in gaining goals.
Cashier, Bakery, and Demonstrator clerk (Current Employee), Long Beach, CAFebruary 19, 2014
This job meets my immediate goals, which is to find an opportunity where I can be productive and grow as a cashier. I love my job meeting new customers every day as well as the regular customers. I never have a hard day at work and if I do I always leave my personal problems behind and never show it at work. I always have a positive attitude and show – more... my employer that I'm responsible and committed to my job as a cashier. I get along with my co-workers as well as my customers even if there's an issue involved, which i never involve myself with. I always put a nice smile on my face. – less

Good place to work for a college student
Deli (Current Employee), San Francisco, CAMay 14, 2013
Cons: poor raises
I typical day is never really a typical day. You never know where you're going to end up on a day-to-day basis. The pay starts off good, but advancements opportunities always seem to be sought from outside of the store and never really from within the establishment. Management is okay, but their lack of communication is daunting. When they have a bad – more... day, stay out of their way or you will have a bad day. – less

Pros: easy
Cons: (on the business side of things) poor poor management, but thats a plus for the employee (they dont push you)
it was not until i stopped working at Bristol that i realized how Lazy Most of the workers are (even the ones that are considered pretty good By Bristol standards) The workers often complain as i did when i was there, but in comparison to where i work now, Bristol is truly a dream, the current staff really have no idea how easy they have it...................this – more... is truth speaking, i would definately take a position there if available. – less

Learned a lot from working at Bristol's that I can bring to and offer to my next career
Bakery Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Manhattan Beach, CAMay 5, 2012
Pros: fun environment to work at, stable job
Cons: no breaks. not enough help.
Bristol Farms was my first job and I stayed there longer than I planned to. I learned a lot from this job. Everyday was a new experience with learning how to order, inventories, building displays, and interacting with customers. Thee hardest part of the job was learning how to adapt to situations when a co-worker would call in sick, because there was – more... no extra staff on hand. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with my co-workers and customers and making them happy. Management could have been better and more organized because then we could have driven sales and company growth. They were not too open to new ideas and I felt this held back the company, – less

Very Rewarding, With The Right Team
Catering Manager (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAApril 26, 2012
Pros: great store teams, the people really make the job worthwhile
Cons: management is not a very focused, energized, or even knowledgable.
If you get a good team together, the day can be very productive. Unfortunately, the schedules are structured to benefit the Store Director. Its unfortunate that the schedules are set up this way. Many times customers will complain that there just isn't enough staff to assist clientelle. Bare bones. Advancement is only based on how much the Store Director – more... likes you, and unfortunately there isn't much beyond a supervisor or manager... which is quickly attainable. The management team is very lasidasical, lazy and really downers. They are not interested on how the store runs, only what their bonuses entail. Its sad to see. – less
