A great place to work!
Non- Foods Manager/ OTC Pharmacy Clerk (Former Employee), Hwy 259 KilgoreJune 6, 2015
Very customer orientated. The only place I have worked where I could smile all day. I learned many different skills in many departments. The hardest part of the job is not knowing how busy a particular day might be. Sometimes all the work cannot get done because customers come first.

I have absolutely had a blast working with BGC as an intern and wish I was not moving so I could continue working for them! I was able to be a part of a hugely successful racing event, which was awesome! The best part is the culture of the office! Definitely enjoyable!

Great place to work
Grocery Manager (Former Employee), Gilmer, TXNovember 21, 2014
Pros: great company culture
Cons: pay was not competitive
The company goes to great lengths to make you feel rewarded for your hard work. Retail is retail, but having some recognition for the hard work you do made this company stand out from others I have worked at.

Pros: knew all the customers by name
Cons: dm was new and didn't know her job
I worked for this company 15 years. The most wonderful part of the job was the customers. The hardest part of the job was policies that made serving the customer hard.

Busy and work environment can be great, but hard.
Certified Pharmacy Technician/Lead Technician (Former Employee), Robinson, TXSeptember 30, 2014
Typical day at work was hectic. All the work load is out on to one person to make up for other coworkers that slack. Unfortunately, I was in charge of doing most of the workload and correcting others mistakes. It is a good work environment though, you work with plenty of nice people. Management is great.

Pros: free lunches
Cons: no benefits
A typical day at work was that I greeted customers who walked into the store.Once the customers were done shopping I bagged there groceries and walk them to their vehicle to unload the groceries. I had a lot of friendly co-workers. My co-workers and I were like one big family. Whenever it was slow around the store I cleaned and did various things that the manager needed me to do.

Good job but takes a lot of time
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee), Monroe LAMarch 21, 2014
Pros: excellent pto and benefits
Cons: long hours, little recognition, no time for family
I worked for BGC for nearly 21 years. I had several different positions from clean-up personnel to Assistant Store Manager. The job is very taxing, yet it is rewarding. You get to meet a lot of different people on a daily basis, and no two days run the same way. However, when most people are off to spend time with their families is when the grocery industry is at its peak. As a result, holidays you are never off and rarely see your family.
