Job Summary: Responsible for writing original content and proofreading and editing others' writing contributions for company website, blog, newsletters, and print pieces. Responsible for producing and publishing digital content using CMS. Responsible for ongoing contribution and engagement on social media channels; posting social media content, adhering to voice and social media strategy. Ultimately will assist in developing brand awareness and generating authentic relationships to lead to organic sales growth. We're looking for a solid writer/editor with strong attention to detail, who is technically savvy and reliable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BA in English, Communications, or similar field
  • Minimum 5 full years experience writing and editing
  • Skilled in clear and concise written and verbal communications; able to convey information effectively and creatively
  • Strong capacity for problem-solving; able to approach and resolve a variety of issues
  • Fast learner; able to quickly learn new system functions and protocol
  • Ability to use proper punctuation, grammar, and spelling in written communications
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the tenets of traditional and digital marketing best practices
  • Skilled at social media platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply SEO principles and practices
  • Functional knowledge and experience with WordPress and/or other CMS
  • Familiarity with HTML
  • Light photo editing a plus
  • Agency and/or journalism experience a plus

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write creative and original content for company website, blog, newsletters, print pieces, and social media postings for both B2B and B2C audiences
  • Edit others' written contributions to company website, blog, newsletters, print pieces, and social media postings
  • Write and edit communication pieces
  • Fact-check and proof copy
  • Maintain adherence to company voice and style guide
  • Write technical user interface and instructional copy for Brown Paper Tickets
  • Maintain editorial calendar
  • Use WordPress or alternative CMS to manage and publish web content
  • Work with other departments in collaboration of mutual or cross-function efforts
  • Develop content for posting on social media platforms, ensuring alignment with content strategy
  • Respond in real-time to customer issues posted on social media, and involve other departments, as needed, in determining proper action and response
  • Execute social media engagement campaigns
  • Develop specific plans and goals to prioritize, organize and accomplish work
  • Other duties as assigned
