Buyer, Minneapolis, MN - October 11, 2017
buffalo exchange is an awesome company, what they do and how they benefit the community is wonderful. however, they ask employees for too much. buy training is difficult, requiring outside research and stressful on the spot training and reprimanding in front of customers. the pay for buyers is minimum wage, which is too low for what they require of their employees. there is no chance of your pay rising unless you assume more responsibilities, and even then the raise is a quarter per hour. there is an extremely high employee turnover rate at Buffalo, which is due to the above reasons combined. if you are applying as a cashier or sales associate that won't be Buying at the counter where customers bring in items to sell, then I would say go for it, the store and customers are pleasant and interesting. But if you are thinking about being a Buyer, I would caution you to consider how willing you are to have consistent pressure on you to not make mistakes, learn under a spot light, do outside research and projects, for only minimum wage. Again, the company and employees are really cool, but there are flaws in their requirements to compensation ratio.
