Family Atmosphere with Great Pay
Technician (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FLSeptember 23, 2016
I've worked for BAS for several years. While it's true there have been a lot of techs in and out, what commercial HVAC company doesn't have that? And this is HVAC work in the South, if you don't like overtime then go work at Wal-Mart making minimum wage.

The pay is very competitive, they keep their trucks in good condition, you never ever need to worry about having the parts you need, the insurance is as good as most places, and the owners are great people.

Don't believe the negative, if you know what you are doing and are a hard worker, you can have a job for life here.
Pros
Compensation, Tools, Parts, 401k
Cons
Insurance a little high, could use some more vacation time

Made a lot of money!
Technician (Former Employee) –  FloridaSeptember 10, 2016
I made more money here than any place I have ever worked. If ethics, pride, and home life do not matter to you then this is the place for you.Long hours, no respect, stealing from customers.
Pros
money

everything else

Do NOT go here
Manager (Former Employee) –  Largo, FLApril 18, 2016
This company is very poorly run. There is no consistency. No clue who is actually in charge. They change the way they want you to do things so often it's hard to keep up. They promote and hire people with little to no experience and then fire them for not being able to do the job. They have no concept of work/life balance except for the 3 at the top. They could sell ice to an eskimo, but all you get is a lukewarm cup of dirty water, and you get blamed for it. Over the past 5 years hundreds of technicians either quit or were fired, 20+ managers quit or were fired, and office staff changes faster than florida weather in the summer. Trust me, it ain't worth it.

A great place to work
Technician (Current Employee) –  Atlanta Ga.January 29, 2015
BAS is a quality company with management that really cares about their employees. They have made a lot of positive changes in the last year. They provide a quality place to work and the benefits are as good as any. From Top Management to the tech level they really care about the people who work here. They have a positive support system for the techs and are there to provide whatever is needed to promote a safe and pleasant place to work. They really care about their customers as well. This company is dedicated to providing their customers a quality of service the is exceptional. If you are looking for a great place to work I would highly recommend you contact BAS. They are not the usual work during the summer and sit during the winter. They truly do have year round work.
Pros
Great benefits and a great work environment. Pay is commensurate with experience
Cons
Long hours but that is the nature of the industry

It could be a good place to work if the entire service department was restructured.
Hvac/r (Former Employee) –  AtlantaJanuary 15, 2015
Poor management, they hire techs with no experience, rip off clients left and right. Parts changers. Unprofessional.

A new group of techs every 6 months, can't keep or find good management
HVAC Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAAugust 15, 2014
This company is a waste of time for any good hvac tech. They make promises they do not intend to keep, expected to run calls when not on call and off on your weekend, are expected to not idle trucks at all even to do your paper work or after working on a hot roof all day to cool off your core temp to avoid heat stress, high turn over, lack of structure, under pays techs, no growth inside company, higher up management that cares nothing for its techs, lack of training, illegal fires techs, if a tech leaves the company the company then blames the person for all the problems, they talk team work but only if the team work helps them but your problems are your own.

This is not a company to work for and the wise thing to do would to be keep searching, to many issues to deal with that you just can't leave at work at the end of the day.
Pros
A job

Management, home life, unsteady workload
