In May 1997, Bull Moose Tube established a new subsidiary, Warren Tube Company, to acquire the Warren Tubular operation in Warren, Ohio. During 1998, this operation, consisting of 2 mechanical mills, was relocated to Masury, Ohio.
The Trenton facility was expanded and a structural mill added to the operation in 1998 and the facility was again expanded – more... in 2005, to strengthen Bull Moose Tube's commitment to being a leader in regional tube production and to being close to the customer. In addition, to further enhance customer service, the Elkhart operations were consolidated during 1999 into one expanded location comprising 302,000 square feet. In 2006, the Elkhart operation was expanded to 355,000 square feet with the addition of over 50,000 square feet of warehousing space.
In 2004, Bull Moose Tube realized their long-term strategy of expanding to the West with the acquisition of a 125,000 sq. ft. facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. The facility, midway between Phoenix and Tucson, will produce and stock a full line of sprinkler pipe products along with a stock of Elkhart and Trenton produced Hollow Structural Sections. In 2005, the facility was expanded to 175,000 square feet to satisfy demand for Bull Moose Tube products on the West Coast.
The company's seven plants are equipped with 17 mills, which have an annual capacity of over 750,000 tons.
Don Beattie, who founded Bull Moose Tube Company in 1962, wanted an unforgettable name and slogan that would symbolize the Company's commitment to offer the highest quality products and service. He became intrigued with the General Bullmoose character in Al Capps Comic Strip, "Lil Abner.: The General was noted for saying - "What's good for General Bullmoose is good for the U.S.A." To Don Beattie, that phrase needed only a slight adjustment to become the slogan he wanted - "What's good for the CUSTOMER is good for BULL MOOSE!"
