BAD MANAGEMNT
Currently Customer Service Rep (Current Employee), Miami – January 4, 2013
Pros: company
Cons: leadership & hr
Bupa UK needs to look at the management and high turnover. Especially in HR. We don't even know who is who in HR. We need consistency and retention. Change the management starting with HR and the leadership.

very unprofessional
Manager of Pre-processing claims (Former Employee), Miami, Florida – January 4, 2013
Pros: seminars and workshops were available often
Cons: hr was probably the worst i have seen in a while
A typical work day is long and unproductive - mainly due to poor work practices enforced by upper management. I learned not to expect much from the directors and above and realized that the enviorment was one based on poor principles and lack true knowledge, as an organization in whole (in Miami). My co-workers were lead to believe that their hard work – more... would take them places, yet found themselves in a "hot Mess" as one described already, in a prior review. The hardest part of my job was trying to make my staff motivated as my upper management kept my hands tied. The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing my staff everyday, as they became family to me. – less

A hot mess!
Anonymous (Former Employee), Miami, FL – May 30, 2012
Pros: it's a job, pays the bills
Cons: no parking provided to employees, and too many micro managers.
I think I can best sum it up in 3 words: A HOT MESS!!!! It has built a negative reputation as an employer in a very short time of being in Miami.

care assistant (Current Employee), hillsview nursing & residential home – June 4, 2013
a typical working day involves meeting the individual needs of the residents at the care home. this ranges from dressing, bathing feeding and more. I have learnt a lot about what it takes to care for residents and am awear of all the rules and regulations that need to be followed, i feel like i am apart of a team and this has helped me gain a number – more... of skills. – less

A forward thinking company leaders in private medical insurance
Bespoke Corporate Medical Underwriting specialist (Former Employee), Manchester United Kingdom – May 27, 2013
Pros: good pension package, good holiday entitlement, free gym facilities
Cons: long hours when doing client visits
Being a leader in the field of medical insurance, they were always looking for new products custom/tailor made for the members.
Customer care was paramount. Each day different from the last.

Become extremely familiar and confident with using medical terminology, visiting clients to develop business relationships, liaising with Sales Consultants to provide bespoke packages to customers

Enjoy cheering up the residents
Staff Nurse (Current Employee), Glasgow – May 22, 2013
I enjoy working with my residents and making a difference to them, I have a good relationship with them, their families and my fellow workmates, the most enjoyable job is spending time with the residents and making them feel at home, I am finding this more and more difficult due the amount of paper work I have to do. I realise the importance of documentation – more... but I feel it uneccesary to duplicate most things as this is so time consuming and takes me away from the residents who are the most important people. – less

summary of bupa
Customer Service Administrator (Former Employee), Brighton – April 16, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: unsocial hours
I did enjoy my role at Bupa, and my only reason for leaving the company was due to travelling.
What I enjoyed most about my role was the trust and recognition I was given to provide feedback to agents and train them up.
The hardest part of my role was telling a customer an answer they didnt want to hear.

Kind and great people to work with.
Cleaner (Former Employee), Chorley – February 26, 2013
Pros: free lunch, great residents and co-workers.
Cons: the heat was unbearable at times due to the air conditioning problems
Start the day off cleaning all the toilets and bathrooms, once the residents have started eating there breakfast i'll clean the plates, cups and cutlery so its ready for there dinner.
After breakfast ill clean the rooms on one side of the unit gradually moving my way up the unit until dinner, as the residents get prepared for there lunch ill go eat – more... and take a break until the sink starts to fill then ill wash the plates and move onto the other side of the unit to clean the rest of the rooms.
once the rooms are cleaned its my job to mop, dust, hoover and make sure the unit is clean and tidy for the residents and my co-workers.
I Learnt to work in a fast and demanding environment and how to control and stop the spread of infection. – less

No support for staff
Care Assistant (Current Employee), Leeds – February 19, 2013
Pros: training induction was good
Cons: no consistancy and poor staff moral
I have only worked for bupa for a short time however was not assisgned a mentor as I was supposed to, was not informed of the correct policies and procedures and all staff work very differently so its hard to gain a consistantsy witrh the residents.
I have not been informed when my appointment was to be enrolled on the nvq level 2 and was dissappointed – more... as I nearly missed it as it had to be rearranged, – less

IN DRASTIC NEED OF CHANGE
CARE ASSISTANT (Former Employee), BASILDON – February 10, 2013
Cons: long hours, poor pay, poor high management
I worked for this company for nearly two years and I left feeling absolutely disgusted! If it weren't for the fantastic ward managers and my direct co workers I would have gone a lot sooner! Unfortunately the higher management has awful communication skills and no time for half of the job description.

Job
care assistant (Former Employee), milton keynes – February 7, 2013
Pros: free lunch.
Cons: working for 12 hour shifts and very little breaks for many days at a time. very little time off.
I worked looking after the sick and elderly i.e. washing, bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing ect.
Over my 20+ years in working in care i have learned a lot about how to look after people in care and how to deal with relatives,Doctors and other members of staff to the point were i became head of care at a home were i worked some years ago.
The hardest – more... part of the job was telling someones relative that ther loved one was very ill and wouldn't recover.
The most enjoyable is knowing you have done your best to look after people in your care.
I enjoy working with others but i can also work on my own if need be. – less
