It gave me an idea of what hard work was like - having to learn everything in front and in the kitchen as well. Was definitely a fast pace job.

Shift Supervisor (Current Employee), Oswego, NY – May 22, 2013
It is a great company to move up in. On a typical day at work I run shifts, position people, train and coach, open or close, etc. I am a part of the management team and work very well with others. My coworkers are great. The hardest part of the job is really just dealing with some angry or upset customers, which doesn't happen a lot. The most enjoyable – more... part of the job is the people I work with make it a fun and great place to be. – less

A Typical day.
Crew Member (Former Employee), Fort Huachuca, AZ – May 22, 2013
Pros: free soda and discounted meals
Cons: short breaks
Work on drive thru, wash dishes when no customers around, and cooked in the kitchen when needed. Would learn how to take orders and make sandwiches. My co-workers were hard working and made the work area positive place. Hardest part was cleaning the boiler and the bathrooms. I enjoyed working with the customers and my co-workers.

Crew Member (Former Employee), Springfield, MA – May 22, 2013
Pros: serving and making customers happy
Cons: heat in the kicthen, rude customers
Working at Burger King for 3 years was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I learned a lot about customer service working the front and drive thru. This is a perfect first job to learn how to work fast and how to communicate with customers.

Cashier (Former Employee), West Palm Beach, FL – May 21, 2013
Pros: great crew
Cons: short breaks
First of all when i started working in June of 2012, It was a good experience until working with different managers that were not good at doing there job. I learned how to handle money better, I learned how to work with different kind of people, and I learned how to work quick and efficient. The hardest part of the job was working Drive Thru with slow – more... cooks. My co workers were wonderful I loved working with them all, We had the best Burger King crew. Lastly the most enjoyable part of my day was Clocking Out and going home. – less

Messy and Unorganized work place
Cashier (Former Employee), Stephens City VA – May 21, 2013
At a typical work day I would take orders and fill all by myself. I would never have any help from anyone. I would also have to clean the bathrooms and lobby and also stock the lobby by myself every night before I left. I learned how to take care of customers and put people before myself. My managers was never helping they always sat in the office and – more... stayed on facebook. My co-workers were very rude and they said many ignorant things about the customers and also to each other in the work place. The hardest part of my job was doing everything by myself. Also only getting one day a week to work. The most enjoyable part was helping customers and earning money that I worked hard for. – less

fast pace food industry with unique co-workers
Fast Food Worker (Former Employee), Flagstaff, AZ – May 21, 2013
Pros: lived close, fair pay, bubbly co-workers, 50% off meals, and excellent food.
Cons: short breaks, alot of doubble shifts, smelling like fast food the rest of the day even after showering, no benifits.
A typical day of work included making quality sandwiches, drinks, cleaning the dinning room as well as restrooms, and making sure our parking lot was free of garbage. I learned how to work hard and make sure everything was done in a timely manor. The management was helpful as well as fair. My co-workers were outgoing and ready to help when needed. We – more... all worked together to make our location a memorable place to go, and return to. The hardest part of the job would be cleaning the ladies restroom. The most enjoyable part of the job besides the pay of course, would be learning how to handle doing more then one thing at a time. Such as, broiling burgers, slicing tomatoes, managing the deep fryers, and stocking the cool room. – less

Burger King ( King of all Burgers )
Cashier, Expediter, Truck Duties (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC – May 21, 2013
Pros: great co. workers, great environment, salary
Cons: no free lunch, unpredictable managers
I worked as a full time cashier and expediter. I was mostly running the cash register, and interacting with people who come from different parts of the country and other places around the globe ( Airport Location ). I would go on the dock on specific days to pick up stock. I would also go get dry and frozen goods and transfer then to storage room or – more... freezer. Some of the management showed favoritism, and they bring their outside issues to work and the crew had to be on their toes not to upset the manager. It's hard to keep a fast pace working in the airport; when most of the management can not separate their feeling working with friends and what they need to do as a manager. I really enjoyed working with my co. works and learning about the different cultures that you can experience. – less

Pros: manager, co-workers.
Cons: too far away from my house i was living at at the time.
Everyone was nice to me at work, if i'd come in early my old co-workers would let me have some of their food and let me eat before i clocked it.

Frostburg, MD Burger King
Grill Cook (Former Employee), Frostburg, MD – May 21, 2013
Pros: free food, rush period was a joke
Cons: everyone is out for themselves, not equal opportunity
You can work there just fine but i'm suggesting that you do not eat there. During my time there on a night shift i witnessed a manager pull a chicken sandwich out of the food waste bucket and send it out the window because i refused to serve it and started cooking one. The person that did this is now the GM of the store. what does that say about quality?

Shift Supervisor
Shift Supervisor (Current Employee), Ashland, WI – May 20, 2013
Pros: free lunch
Cons: only 30 min lunch break in a 9 hour day.
A typical day at Burger King for a shift supervisor includes general paperwork such as recording sales, labor and waste. As a shift supervisor I am in charge of making sure my fellow co-workers are in their assigned locations and staying on task. Making sure that customers are getting a top notch experience in a fast and friendly way.

Fun and interesting but not a career based job.
Crew Member (Former Employee), Baltimore, MD – May 20, 2013
It always fun to deal with people. I learned to be a leader think fast and deal with all kinds of customers over zealous ones and very angry ones. Co- workers all got along and we all acted as a team to get the job down in a reasonable and professional manner. Hardest part of the job was working so hard for so little. The best part of the job was learning – more... to think and act fast. – less
