Burke offers all full-time employees the opportunity to own employee stock in the company. With the pride and accountability of ownership comes a strong desire to contribute to the organization's goals. Employees work in teams to deliver a quality product to our customers. There is a shared commitment to understand and exceed the expectations of our – more... customers that permeates everything we do. We measure our performance as an organization through regular internal and customer audits. We constantly review our processes to ensure we are applying the best practices.
Open communication is a key component of our culture. We have an open feedback system so employees can give year-round feedback to each other. The president of Burke holds employee focus groups every other week to exchange information with staff members. Our employees can share their thoughts about working at Burke through our on-line opinion survey. An Advisory Council, made up of an employee from each department, makes recommendations for process improvements. At employee meetings held quarterly, the Company financials are reviewed with all employees. Informational updates are broadcast on "Burke TV" via television monitors throughout our offices. The Intranet, email and quarterly newsletter help keep everyone "connected".
The growth and learning of employees is a high priority. New employees are assigned a mentor and participate in extensive hands-on training. Software and other technical training is also offered so everyone can take advantage of the state-of-the-art technology available at work. Employees are encouraged to develop expertise in their functional area and to "branch out" through cross-training.
The environment at Burke is casual, not just in the way we dress, but in the informality of our work relationships. Employees at all levels interact with each other as needed to get the job done. We strive to minimize strict rules and structures in favor of openness and innovation.
Burke employees enjoy working together, but they like having fun together, too. Our Events Committee plans monthly activities, with the most noteworthy being our family picnic, holiday dinner-dance and "Opening Day" party. There's also a bowling league, golf events and group outings to Reds and Bengal games.
We support our community in various ways, including a United Way Employee Campaign, Fine Arts Fund Drive and participation in Junior Achievement. Since 1985, we have been a "Partner in Education" with Rees E. Price Academy Elementary. Our employees generously volunteer to serve as pen pals and tutors to Rees E. Price Academy students, as well as furnishing less-fortunate students with school supplies. These are just a few of the ways we try to give back to our community. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
