Corporate Bookkeeper (Former Employee), Brentwood, TN – November 20, 2013
Pros: i just loved the job
Cons: the company sold to another accounting firm
I had approximately 45 clients and i handled bank reconcilation, processing their information to give them a montly profit and loss statement. I did accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, payroll, business tax license, personal property taxes, W2s , 1099, irs Quarterly Reports. I also answered the phones and also developed a relationship – more... with my clients. They were all so wonderful to work with.
I learned alot with this company. When they hired me, I didnt know the first thing about all of the above items. I was trained by a very good co-worker. I learned so much there that I could open a company. It was great.
The management (owner) was great. He compensated his employees very well.
January was always the hardest part of the job. It was very busy as I had to process all of my clients W2s and 1099s. But I really enjoyed the job so I didnt mind at all.
I enjoyed the people that I worked with. I also enjoyed talking with my clients. Some I met personally and some was never more than a phone call. It was nice when they felt comfortable enough to discuss their grandchildren or something they were excited about. My clients were great.
I really miss this job. The practice was sold and it elimated my job.
iI am ready to find a very good and stable company to work for. – less
