Taxi Ecoride is featured in this US Department of Energy's Clean Cities video spot. Owner and CEO Jeb Corey discusses C&H getting into the 'Clean Cities' initiative. At a convention years ago, Jeb speaks on how it was the first time he was introduced to it, and knew immediately he had to get involved.
The Clean Cities is the connection for C&H to stay ahead of the alternative fuel curve, on a local and national level. It keeps them updated on local alternative fuel stations being built as well as nationally what the vehicle fuel industry is up to. Are they using natural gas, propane? C&H wants to be there right alongside the green fuel alternatives and pass the benefits onto their customers and community.
For about 2 years, C&H has ran two Prius Ecoride taxi's. They are a big test to the taxi industry to see how well they hold up, and have been stellar so far. These taxi's are just the start of C&H Clean Cities initiative. They hope to incorporate natural gas, propane, or other forms of fuel into their fleet. It depends on the infrastructure and how everything plays out.
C&H is proud to be apart of the U.S. Department of Health's Clean Cities. They will continue to build and work under sustainable means.

C&H takes pride in community engagement and involvement. Each year, the company participates in the Charleston Christmas parade - this one in 2012 won 1st place!
C&H features another community program: WAVE. WAVE, or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, is now apart of the company's diverse fleet. The WAVE vehicle is designed to accommodate seniors in the Charleston community.
The WAVE program was made possible by partnership with West Virginia Divison of Public Transit and Mountain State Centers for Independent Living.
Locally owned and operated for over 30 years in Charleston, West Virginia, C&H has been a community fixture since its inception. The company’s premier cab service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, helping the people of the Kanawha Valley get to their destinations safely and conveniently. The company provides state-of-the-art tools on its website, including its exclusive online booking system and a powerful mobile phone app called Link that lets users book trips, make trip payments, and check the status of their requests from anywhere.
C&H believes that it is important to give back to the community in which it operates as a way of thanking the residents of Charleston for supporting the taxi service for three decades. This charitable return to the community is an integral part of the company’s corporate culture, and they sponsor a number of important core services to benefit the city’s residents. First, C&H proudly offers their Intoxi-Taxi® service that is provided for special events throughout the calendar year, and is designed to give intoxicated people free or discounted rides home. The company covers the first 5-15 miles of fares from holiday events and concerts in the city of Charleston. This service is important because it helps keep drunk drivers off the roads of the city and offers a way to get people home safely from city events.
A popular and successful campaign run by the company is C&H’s PINK Ride program. A specially-painted cab was deployed around the city, and the company donated $1.00 to breast cancer research for every ride taken in the PINK Taxi. Through this creative community event, the company was able to raise thousands of dollars to help support this valuable research. The company plans similar campaigns during the year, and the community will be surprised by the next colorful cab to appear on city streets.
Through a partnership with the West Virginia Division of Public Transit and the Mountain State Centers for Independent Living, C&H launched its WAVE program, assisting people with physical disabilities in getting cab rides around the city. The company’s uniquely-designed Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAVE) can be booked by riders just as with the cab’s regular services, and patrons can rest assured that they and their wheelchairs will be delivered to their destinations safely and conveniently. Partnerships with government and charitable organizations position the company as one of the leading cab service providers in the state of West Virginia and demonstrates the company’s commitment to helping the under served residents of Charleston and the surrounding communities.
Finally, two eco-friendly Toyota Prius vehicles were added to the C&H fleet for the purpose of demonstrating the company’s desire to make their community better. The company calls the addition of these vehicles the Ecoride Program, and they’ve been a hit with city residents. Without resident support, the company would not have been able to provide its courteous, safe service within the city. Investing in the future of the city by reducing carbon footprints and promoting healthy lifestyles by adding these vehicles are some of many ways C&H says “thank you” to the people of Charleston. – less
