The work day entails a lot of the same process and goals, but there is not day that will be exactly like another. I have learned how to become a respected, yet approachable manager within our fleet. I get a long with my co-workers really well, even though not all are as productive as the could be. The most enjoyable part about my job, is that hard work and productivity is recognized. Although, I have been through 2 different promotions, and have yet been given a pay increase. Even after speaking with upper management, I cannot get a simple yes, or no when it comes to a pay increase.
Great work/life balance, vacation/sick time, benefits
Lack of pay raises, lack of communication with upper management
OTR Company Driver (Current Employee) – Utah – August 21, 2017
Alot of patience will be required if anyone chooses to apply at this conpany. This is no more than a starter company to obtain your CDL and earn some experience, I would not recommend working a long career for this company.

Driver / Trainer (Current Employee) – Salt Lake City, UT – August 21, 2017
I enjoy what I do, however managers are never available and overwhelmed with their duties abandoning Drivers - no leadership. It seems that the managing team is being rotated much too often. They employ former truck drivers whom are good people but they can not teach.
Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) – Smithfield, VA – August 19, 2017
The good: When you submit your trip paperwork you always get paid promptly for it. The trucks on my fleet KZ (Smithfield dedicated) were in great shape and most of them didn't have idle limitations (I think the national fleet does though) Our planner was pretty good and flexible.
The bad: Hometime promises are rarely honored. The miles aren't great at least on fleet KZ They put negative information on my dac report that simply isn't true, despite working there for years and never making a fuss, I was told I could return there but other companies wouldn't hire me with it, despite having a perfect DOT record. Everyone is very cutthroat and it is encouraged in their corporate culture to be that way. In the Smithfield terminal there is no women's restroom and I was given a sign to hang on the door instead, but barred from using the restroom close to any shift change.
Good trucks, okay pay, will sell cars to employees.
Assigned a load to me after I quit to prevent me from moving to other companies, claiming I quit under load. They never took women seriously as drivers.
CR England truck driver (Former Employee) – bURNS hARBOR, iNDIANIA – August 18, 2017
Normal day would start 4-9 Learned different views on ways to balance work and communicating with people and the diversity of peopless cultures. Different ways to do runs with a 18 wheeler. Stressful from making time points and getting stuck in traffic. Management was kind very understanding but also very demanding. We were numbers on a time clock was the ba part. And had to check behind myself going in and out from restmoom areas dangerous and not to mention: people unhooking your air hoses or pulling your pin from a load. Thank goodness I always remembered to check. Best part I got to see different places.
Good pay/ travel
People are really crazy on the road by yourself or with team driving.
