This was a great place to work for the past 11 years.
Senior Account Executive (Former Employee), Houston, TXJanuary 9, 2015
Pros: great commission.
Cons: not being able to work from home.
A typical day consisted of cold calling, setting up meetings, working up proposals, then going out and making sales. I really enjoy the art of cold calling and being in front of clients on the daily basis, you never know what your going to get!

In this job I learned a lot over the years, everything from patience, gratitude, most importantly how to manage people and help business grow.

Over the years my co workers became my Houston family and I miss them dearly. Great bunch of people.

Pros: set schedule with breakfast and lunch periods at any time
Cons: constant employee purges through the year as if they'd rather fire people then lay them off.
The job itself is pretty straight forward.
You get in at 6am.
You set up enough signs to carry in your work bag and to complete 1 to 10 full carts(trains)
And you work until the day is over at 3pm.

It was honestly awesome. The job is just really really strict.

We were allowed a breakfast and lunch break when ever we wanted throughout the day but, guys have gotten fired for being on a lunch break when the "Boss" magically wants to show up to evaluate them.

Some guys have gotten fired because they couldn't come to work.
The reason? No baby sitter. He's literally fired people for not being able to find people to watch their kids.

And I've never ever seen a female employee in the field.

People in the office were saying the boss didn't want to lay people off due to the fact that laying people off still means paying them unemployment checks. So this lead me to believe the boss was itching for any reason to fire people to save a buck.

The company has no training for new employees so they need to work on that. The company turnover rate is very high.

Not a happy work place
Mobile Display/Sales (Former Employee), Detroit, MIFebruary 18, 2014
Pros: health care
Cons: managers
Management was very "old times" with rules. I recall manager at one point told an employee they needed to go back to school to learn how to talk and write. Hard work wasn't rewarded.

Account Executive (Former Employee), Atlanta, GASeptember 10, 2013
Pros: no territories, you could sell anything that wasn't already under contract with another rep
Cons: commision structure
I enjoyed the challenge of selling outdoor media & advertising however, when being hired I started with a straight base salary & when I came in & immediately started to render success from my efforts, I was not allowed to receive commissions, only the base salary. I'm proud of what I accomplished at CBS, the experience has definitely made me better.

Rotor (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CADecember 9, 2012
Pros: perfect shift, good pay, good hours weekends off m-f
Cons: management always threatening layoffs could make for a nervous year
Great shift starts at 5am, means all day after work to spend with the family.
Could be tough if you are not used to early hours and climbing ladders all day. Not a place for people afraid of heights.

Productive workplace with knowledgeable employees.
Rotator (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAJune 4, 2012
Pros: great co-workers.great hours.
Cons: working at 20-80 ft above ground.
Typical day starts at the warehouse where i get all my equipment and routes for the day. Then would go out in crews of 2-4 and drive to various locations to perform work.I learned that working with others is great when u can adapt to diffrent personalities and the goal is to get the job done right and together as a team.Management was great and very helpful.Co-workers were also great at communicating and helping when needed.Hardest part of the job was learning all the difrent type of billboard structures and how to effectively work at elevated surfaces. The best part of the job was being around so many knowledgeable co-workers and learning everyday one the job.
