Under the direction of the Sr. Community Loan Officer, the Loan Assistant will support the Community Development Department in counseling new loan prospects on CDC products and pre-screening loan requests. The Loan Assistant will meet one on one with borrowers who are seeking information about different loan programs. The dynamic individual placed in this position will lead conference calls and informational webinars, participate in community presentations, and collect and review documents required for loan closings.
The Loan Assistant will initially be expected to meet these Success Factors:
Within the first 30 days of employment:
- Use loan software independently.
- Discuss CDC loan products with potential borrowers.
- Conduct a client intake.
Within the first 60 days of employment:
- Manage all loan intakes independently.
- Compile a complete loan package.
Within the first 90 days of employment:
- Be able to make referrals to other organizations.
- Accurately Pre-screen applicants.
All this, with the long term goal of becoming an integral part of the loan production process.
Qualities of the Successful Candidate:
- Attentive to Detail – the ability to accurately complete tasks.
- Adaptive to Change – the ability to be flexible in a changing environment
- Experienced with technology – MS Office applications, copier equipment, multi-line phone system
- Able to make presentations in front of an audience and on the phone.
- Comfortable working with numbers.
Self-motivated with problem solving skills and with a focus on superior customer service.
