Basic Job Functions:
Directly responsible for working with commissioning to uphold the standards for the EPC commissioning process. The Commissioning Technician will support field commissioning activities. Must be able to assist the commissioning lead to maintain project schedule. Must maintain the quality of projects through strict adherence to the commissioning protocols. Must be able to work with vendors & contractors to effectively support activities during the commission process. Work with management to improve the commissioning cycle and reduce time and cost.


  • High or Medium Voltage experience required
  • Field Service Technician (4-7 years)
  • Strong electrical apptitude for AC and DC systems, Inverter experience a plus
  • PV systems or related power generation knowledge


  • Engineering Technology degree preferred, EE a plus
  • NETA Level II or III Certification a plus
  • NFPA 70E Training
  • Electrical License a plus

Required Skills:

  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to work autonomously in remote field conditions .
  • The ability to quickly analyze and logically troubleshoot defective equipment
  • Collect data and generate reports in a Windows environment (Excel, Word, & Project).
  • Computer skills involving electronic control systems preferred.
  • Execute remediation plans with contractors.
  • Available to support construction and engineering groups with the applicable commissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with testing and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Execute testing plans and procedures that are related to the commissioning of the project.
  • Review and maintain commissioning documentation submitted by contractors.
  • Track contractor progress on a daily basis and update corresponding tracking files.
  • Provide on-site technical and operational support in the installation and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Execute remediation plans with contractors.
  • Execute and maintain FS safety procedures and protocols.
  • Perform basic testing procedures, and provide on-site team support.
  • Execute and maintain FS safety procedures and protocols.

Project Site (non-craft) Requirements:

  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
