CSS Farms is a welcoming work environment in which also is very productive and co-worker friendly. In an average day at CSS, I would come in starting at 7am for an 8 hour work shift. Each staff member is listed on the board assigned to a team that consists of three workers, sometimes four. You would then gather your equipment such as buckets, cleaning rags, trash containers, etc for use when entering the designated sector of potato varieties that you are assigned to that day. With your team their is a bottom, middle, and top picker. You start at one end of a section which includes numerous varieties or sometimes just two. As a team, you would go through each tray picking aerials, and tubers accordingly to the size that is requested. After each variety you would then gather all aerials and tubers to go weigh, clean, and place in trays so then you can successfully put in a cold room department for greenery. As far as my co-workers, I really have not had a problem with anyone they are for the most part easy to work with. The hardest part of the job to me is withstanding the heat sometimes in the green houses when the shading isn't operable.
