Stear clear
Pharmacy manager (Current Employee), Hawaii – March 15, 2013
Pros: quitting this job and getting out asap
Cons: management and corporate greed
CVS is a joke. Pharmacy PDMs in Hawaii are the most incompetent ruthless people on this planet. They hire their friends or people who date their friends or people of their own race only. They will hire people out of their race to do the dirty jobs. These Hawaii PDMs have the worst power trip. They think u are their slaves.

Excellent workplace environment with great Management
Case Review Coordinator (Current Employee), Northbrook, IL – March 11, 2013
Pros: great work schedule monday through friday from 7:30am to 4pm
Cons: contract position
Primary duties include multitasking between different tasks such as making outbound calls on patients cases, processing information from inbound calls, data entry, coordinating files and reports to their corresponding areas, processing error reports for cases that were not able to open automatically, problem-solving rejecting claims error reports, documenting – more... the information that is reviewed from inbound faxes, organizing reports to send to corresponding departments, and proactively staying up to date with new updates to medications, clinically reviewing patients cases to process patient medication request, work on implementation reports from new clients, and finally work proactively with managers and clinicians to efficiently process all requests for clients.
All this work is done professionally and ethically because we work with specialty medication that can be potentially life-threatening for the member is medication is not supplied.
I do work as a data analyst/case review coordinator and this position requires a lot of administration and organization skills. There are many challenges that are faced here when dealing with specialty medication, time management, efficacy, and detail orientation is greatly necessary to provide the best service to the patients. New clients come on board with the benefits provided here at CVS therefore, implementing all records into our system can be very challenging because it requires information from medical offices that at times the necessary information is not supplied by the client so we must research and follow up with many our cases.
Problem solving is one of the biggest challenges but I overcome those by making sure I have all the necessary information either by researching or working with Supervisors to accurately gather all the information required. – less

Watch your back!
CCR 1 (Former Employee), Phoenix – March 11, 2013
Pros: free lunch and snacks, fair healthcare
Cons: you receive an employee discount at all cvs stores, it really isn't because everything is so overpriced!
Just like being in High School. Supervisors play favorites. If you're not with the in crowd forget it. You work like a dog and no one ever says thank you, not even you supervisors. Other employees steal from your desk and the company could care less. They hire too many people at the start of the new policy season, then they fire people that have worked – more... there for over a year. Stay away!!! They are cruel and heartless people. – less

work over load
Staff pharmacist (Current Employee), Lowell, MA – March 6, 2013
Cons: work load, hours, lack of support, managment has no understanding of what really goes on in stores
There expectation of what needs to be done in a day are unrealistic. They have consistently taken away support person hours, they have taken away pharmacist hours to such an extent that you can no longer effectively help the patients. The bottom line is all that is important.. They treat employees with no respect. I am disappointed with myself for not – more... leaving the company sooner. I would not recommend CVS to a fellow pharmacist – less

– March 13, 2013

I worked for CVS for a short time. I had been hired with great pay and managed all products of cosmetics. I did not mind the work load - however the store manager who was male had made comments inappropriate comments to the female staff workers. It was shocking to hear this. In all my years of retail I had NEVER EVER been around a manager who spoke unprofessionlly. This company could have been sued!!!! I said nothing. . I never saw him on the floor or acknowledge ANYONE from his staff. He truly was MEAN. Staffing with the Pharmacy has been a big issue for many many years. UNDERSTAFF and poor management coming from corporate needs change immediatly. This change has never been addressed. I am surprised they are still in business. If I worked as part of their corporate sector I personally would re-train everyone and be very cautious who is running my stores!!!!. Do not work for this company. You will leave shortly after. As I did.

Cvs is the worst job I have ever had
Management (Current Employee), New York – February 23, 2013
Pros: sometimes your check isn't shorted
Cons: no hours, bad pay, your treated like dirt
I work management at cvs and I can't believe how bad the stores have become. Hours are cut mouthy, and it doesn't matter how well your store performs. The last two years I have seen my district fall apart, every store! My store was number 1 in sales, and cut 100 hours a week, that's like one and a half full time jobs cut for being being #1. Now my store – more... looks like a getto 99 cent outlet, and we had half the staff quit because they are only working 10 hours a week. I don't even make enough money buy new shoes every month from them being destroyed unloading trucks in the snow. – less

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Nashville, TN – February 21, 2013
Pros: helping medicare members receive their medications, .
Cons: not enough training, systems not working when needed..
MEDICARE MEMBERS CALL VERY UPSET CURSING AND HOLLERING AND REGARDING THEIR INSURANCE PLANS,.You have to continue to apologize to the member and its not my issues and try to the best of my ability to assist them but it is very hard to do.
Management will and could not assist they would ask the rep,. how to do different task that is needed to be done – more... by management. Training was not statisfactory for anyone, not enough information,.systems not working., Co-workers always stressed out. No motivation at all. – less

Good company until tenured colleagues started to leave in 2012
Sr. Account Manager (Former Employee), Scottsdale, AZ – February 20, 2013
Pros: good benefits and fair compensation
Cons: operations leadership moving books of business around too much between account managers
I was with the company for 13 years and went through three acquisitions. The last merger from Caremark to CVS Caremark was the most challenging. Everything changed and work life balance suffered. Most enjoyable part of the job was working with colleagues and clients. Hardest part was providing feedback to leadership. Leadership listened but was the – more... action was not there. – less

Current Nashville Employee
Current (Current Employee), Nashville – February 16, 2013
***BEWARE***The hardest part of this job is dealing with the unethical practices internally. You are roped in by being told that there are great growth opportunities, when in reality the upper managers and director already have a "friend" in mind for the role. In addition there is ZERO accountability for some of the poor decisions made in the Nashville – more... site. If you ask legitimate questions LOOKOUT ...your "Nashville Career" is OVER. The culture and morale is in disarray. In addition, there is no outlet...if you speak to HR or the Ethics line your issue or concern is swept under the carpet because no one follows up or through. Benefits and Vacation time were reduced. God forbid if you are a Supervisor, they are expected to do miracles! If you can't operate in a stale & stagnant environment AND carry the world on your shoulders for low wages...then this is not the place for you. – less
