A typical day at work was pretty average-pace, with rushes between 11am and 1pm.
I learned the importance of teamwork and understanding in a department, because if there's a disagreement, it lowers the morale.
Management, for the most part, is great. There is one manager (unfortunately he's the manager of my department) who is forgetful, arrogant, and barely displays a passable customer service attitude.
The hardest part is dealing with that manager mentioned above. Everything else is very straightforward and easy to understand.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the atmosphere. Unlike other retail environments such as Walmart or Target, Cabela's customers come in because they WANT to be there, not because they NEED to be there. There are far fewer rude customers and they are very understanding and patient if we experience technical difficulties.
