Great people to work with but no management / career plans and bad managers at group director and above levels in some of the business unites.

Senior management have no clue or direction
Middle management busy kissing rear and playing politics
Rest of people running about in 50 directions like kitchen missing head chef.

Cadence develops highly sophisticated software solutions for microchip companies. New management has really turned the company around and build the stock price up 5x in the last 3 years. I have worked as an FAE at Cadence and previously worked for Synopsys. I have now moved to CAD development at a Semiconductor company.

I can gladly say that working – more... at Cadence has forced me to use 50% more of my brain. Synopsys tends to negotiate hard to customers against technology development, whereas Cadence takes more and more burden from Customers in developing advanced technology. The net result is that there is more growth for Engineers working at Cadence compared to Synopsys. Especially around Front-End Digital technology, where Synopsys maintains the reputation as the leader, Cadence has 5 times more technology in Low Power, Auto-ECO, Advanced DFT and Advanced Physical Synthesis.

Over 7 years at Cadence, I've had the opportunity to be an FAE, Product Engineer, Account Management and Marketing Manager. On the Applications and Product Engineering side, I have been issued patents under my name, a rare thing in a Non-Developmental role.

Cadence has also been acquiring IP companies left and right. They are well prepared to gain leadership back in the industry. – less

Was one of the better employers i've had good communication skills , people skills life skills job wish i was there .Was in charge of shipping &receiving department ,,computer logistic checks elevator checks printer,copier checks just all around general maintenance checks also

Poor management who hardly recognize employees
Salary isn't high enough, and management don't want to increase
ESPP used to be ok, but now it's only 5%

Everyday at the office was challenging yet rewarding. Lots of projects on a global scale; minimal problems with office politics. Fun and games (basketball at lunch); wonderful food at one of Silicon Valley's best corporate cafeterias.

Had a very friendly professional team that worked fast and well developing analog cells, blacks and chips under a variety of semiconductor processes. There were weekly meetings for where everyone contributes and jokes around with management while planning for the weeks work.
