Okay place to work
Employee Resource Center Specialist (Current Employee), Winfield, ILJune 10, 2014
I can't speak for all positions but I will say my supervisor is incredibly supportive and flexible. The pay is on the lower end of industry standard but it is still okay. Not many perks but the general benefits are good.

Fun working with friends
Medical Staff Admin Specialist (Former Employee), Winfield, ILNovember 27, 2013
Pros: every day was different from the last.
Cons: small hospital.
The typical day for me was to work with the Department Chairs of the hospital, (Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine), on new hire interviews and re-credentialing of current staff members. I enjoyed that I came in contact with many different people throughout the hospital. The hardest part of the job was that CDH is very small – more... compared to Loyola where I spent the better part of my career. – less

Fun working place
Receptionist/File Clerk (Former Employee), Saint Charles, ILOctober 30, 2013
Pros: able to work various hours, if needed.
Cons: at times not much of a lunch break.
I learned the different type of illness and incurable diseases that patients have with this office.

My co-workers were great to work with and easy to get along with.

Hardest part of the day was when there was a lot of patients checking in/out at the same time, as the office is a small office and it is a 3 people staff.

The satasifaction that I was – more... able to help patients made my day, every day. – less

Little value placed on employee
Phlebotomist (Current Employee), WinfieldOctober 18, 2013
Cons: no support, career development and very little training, no mentoring or formal training
The management should examine why there are so many positions needed in phlebotomy in an economy where people are looking for jobs. The atmosphere for phlebotomy lab employees is hostile and they are treated with little value and easily replaced. There is no career development or concern for the individuals who do this important work. Profits are paramount – more... to employees and patients. Lab management values are out of synch with values of this health care organization. – less

Great place to work with good co-workers and supervisors
Medical Trans (Current Employee), Winfield, ILFebruary 19, 2013
Pros: working from home - good hours - flexibility
Cons: not enough work anymore
Great company to work for with good benefits. Learned speech editing here, which is great. Unfortuntately, now that Epic is in play, the workload has been literally cut in half and not enough work anymore.

Not "A Great Place to Work"
Clerical (Current Employee), Geneva,ILFebruary 16, 2013
Cons: senior management, your voice not heard, great programs eliminated, on going construction
Since the "merge" with Central Dupage Hospital into Cadence Health, this once wonderful, friendly community hospital with so many smiles and spirit, has become one ugly place to work. Delnor used to have Planetree values, Patient Partner Council, a We Care Together employee charity, numerous social events, status as "A Great Place To Work", caring atmosphere – more... and so many other great benefits. Not anymore! The senior management team doesn't want to hear from any employee and decisions are made for all without any regard to the situation. You WERE always proud to be part of this organization and willing to perform your job above and beyond any expectations. It truly is not the same Delnor since CDH "took over". It's a SAD DAY at Delnor. – less

Extremely unsatisfied here
Medical Technologist (Current Employee), LabFebruary 5, 2013
Pros: competetive wages with bonus, small raises consistently
Cons: **management, work load, unappreciated for diligent and hard work
You are expected to accomplish more and more work in the same time period for the same pay. We are a reference lab, but there is only so much an employee can be expected to do in 8 hours. Overtime can be nice, but is expected of you each and everyday.

Management ignores ideas and suggestions to streamline work and create a more efficient working environment. – more... Management ignores employees concerns. Pretty much feel unappreciated, ignored and taken advantage of. – less

Cadence really cares not only about the patients but also about their employees as well.
Phlebotomist (Current Employee), Winfield, ILSeptember 25, 2012
Pros: great benefits and awesome supervisors that help you when needed!
Cons: not being able to move up as fast as one would like.
The best part of my day is to see a patient walk out of my eye line with a smile on their face. Working with sick people you never know who just a bit of bad news, or how much they are hurting mentally or physically. So to put a smile on their face brightens my day as well as everyone who works for Cadence. In hopes that maybe that one smile has changed – more... the day or even the minute for person. I truly feel that this is how everyone feels at Cadence! – less
