About Calgary TELUS Convention Centre
By extending our reach to the wider global community, Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) is helping to make good things happen -- from the heart of Stephen Avenue to the city's suburban perimeters. While doing so, CTCC makes an important contribution to the cultural and economic enrichment of every city resident. Since CTCC opened more than 30 – more... years ago, as many as five million academicians, scientists, trade delegates and business professionals have poured through CTCC doors, bringing wisdom, ground-breaking technological expertise and innovative business practices to share with their host community. Through the decades, these welcome guests have made an invaluable contribution to the economic strength of one of the country's most industrious and resource-rich regions. Recent research confirms that the long-range economical contributions of CTCC's clientele has been more profound than previously believed. Visitors arrive at Calgary International Airport to attend conferences and conventions of a few days duration. But they tend to remain in Southern Alberta for much longer periods of time, sampling the diverse pleasures of a city that is rich in recreational and entertainment choices. They travel in cabs, reside in area hotels and dine in local restaurants. They shop, visit galleries, enjoy sporting events and attend musical and theatrical productions. They ski in the Rockies and play golf in the foothills. Thus refreshed, they return home, carrying warm memories and positive impressions to share with friends and associates. Calgary TELUS Convention Centre is keenly aware of the importance of its dual role as a meaningful driver for tourism as well as a stimulus for regional growth and progress. Our success would not be sustainable without strong and essential partnerships. In 2006, as a member of the Promotional Authorities (Calgary Economic Development, Tourism Calgary, Calgary Technologies Inc., and CTCC), we partnered with the City of Calgary to host the first Building Connections events in Toronto and Ottawa. This initiative helped to build awareness in the eastern markets by highlighting the opportunities available in Calgary in both business and the meetings market. We continue our community involvement through our partnership with the Calgary Convention Connectionâ„¢, a consortium consisting of the three hotels that are connected to the CTCC (Hyatt Regency Calgary, the Fairmont Palliser, and the Calgary Marriott Hotel). CTCC is a part of the community of Calgary. Our respect for the environment - our dedication to reducing pollution, waste and energy use - makes CTCC a good neighbour. Finally, CTCC offers a great place for Calgarians to work. We recently earned a Calgary's Best Places to Work 2007 Honorable Mention. When interviewed for the award, our employees said that "We work in an environment of respect and integrity." – less – More from ZoomInfo »
