Accepts Only Bank of America Rejects
Conventional Underwriter (Former Employee), Irving, TXNovember 18, 2013
Pros: they accept all bank of america rejects
Cons: they accept all bank of america rejects
This is a company that will only hire people that they know in order to obtain the "referral fee" and control the atmosphere. They go out drinking together and if you don't drink, you are an outsider. Everyone on the underwriting team worked for Bank of America, and left at the same time in order to be in a better situation, however, the new underwriting manager is not experienced enough to even be the manager, she is only the manager because of her friend not her experience. In other words, if you don't know anyone that works there, just keep it moving. Not a company that bases your experience on your pay either, they pay people that they know 80k to underwrite, all of them work from home, you can never get in contact with the underwriters, they are never in the office, "unmanageable" too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Everyone there are "unwanted" Bank of America Employees.

Great company to work for, especially in in the mortgage industry
Loan Officer (Current Employee), Colorado Springs, COSeptember 3, 2013
Pros: flexible hours, good team environment, friendly management
Cons: salary is commission based
Caliber Funding / Home Loans is a Houston based company that operates in 48 states. Caliber specializes in residential mortgage loans and is extremely rate competitive. Caliber is great to work for. If you are good at commission sales and you really like the mortgage industry, I highly recommend working in the Colorado Springs branch. The branch manager sincerely cares for his employees and the lending team is top notch. The lending support team will work with the loan officers to accomplish the mission. I am very glad that i chose to work there.

Stay Away...even if a last resort !
Specialist, Facilites and Procurement (Former Employee), Irving, TXAugust 28, 2012
Pros: free coffee
Cons: too many to list
If anyone is offered a job here, and you have more than one offer to consider, take the other offer. You are not treated as a valuable employee, but as the current warm body fll a position that was just recently vacated. There is no culture of fostering an employee to succeed, they would rather find the next warm body and hope for the best. This company lacks any sort of code of ethics that most companies adhere and are bound to. There are hints of racism and the good ole boy network that is rampant and unchecked by management and higher postitions. The company refuses to spend money on current systems to make jobs easier for employees and are stuck with using what they have always used which consists of decades old thought processes and functionality.
This company by no means should be considered by anybody as a dream job, rather a stepping stone to something better.
