A typical day at work involved caring for children and animals, as well as teaching various groups of people about whichever habitats or animals were to be covered that day. I worked during the summer and was constantly administering first aid due to heat or small accidents. I learned the importance of child care, animal and habitat preservation, how to maintain a good work ethic and how to be responsible for children and teens. My management was very easy to work with and equally as understanding as they were efficient. The workplace culture was very tight-nit and I felt very at ease and friendly with my coworkers. The hardest part of the job was the commute which was easily overlooked by the fulfilling relationships that I made with coworkers, teen volunteers, my management, the animals and the children under my care.
